Bill_FL I did the two coats as recommended. If i had it to do over, I would have doubled it.
03-09-2013 08:05 AM
Gunz n tractorz Is 2 or 3 coats better? And why?

Bart113000 Which color is that....any close up shots? how do you like it?

OverkillYJ Here you go

Bart113000 I would love to see some pic.'s of Jeeps painted with this stuff on the outside. I am considering it, but I am a little apprehensive about the look. I know it wont be a high gloss finish, but I am not loooking for that!

Bill_FL OD Green rolled in. Working on new speaker wiring in this shot. You are seeing dusty foot prints by the drivers door.

This is the masking - getting ready to roll it.

If i had to do it again, I would double it. Putting the seats back in, i chipped a piece off with the seat frame. I would have thought it should have resisted that.

My biggest issue with the it was the complete lack of any customer service. Two weeks after my order with no confirmation of shipping, i began the process of trying to get someone there to answer emails or the phone. Finally a guy told me they didnt have what i had ordered an didnt know when they would get the OD green. It was a very frustrating process and I probably would not use them again because of it. I did finally get it, but I am not sure if I had not called every day for weeks If I would have.
Their customer service was great for me. I called them from Home Depot and Loews asking them about rollers I could use since I only had a couple from them. They were super helpful and told me everything they do when they paint it. Made my life a lot easier trying to figure out what store bought roller would give me the texture I wanted. As far as the product. I triple coated in and double coated out. I beat on my Jeep rougher than 90% of Jeep guys. It holds up awesome.

Bill,

That seems strange. I know they have been in the process of moving their entire business from the east coast to Alabama. I'm not defending anyone, but I know Eric does handle a million calls, and tons of people have his personal number.

I'm sorry to hear you are having problems....

rescue7 I don't know about any of this. I have dealt with Eric personally many times. He has always been excellent. We have talked as late as 1130pm. I even designed a color with him.

My exterior and interior of my Jeep was done 2 months ago, and has been great. Prep is the key to everything. I was verrrryyyy meticulous. Even states it on his site.

Bill_FL When i lifted the seat with bracket attached, it "dinged" against the body where the door closes against it. I brought the liner out to there. It would not have made a mark on paint and it chipped the liner. I waited on them because of their color selection. I really wanted the OD green. If you do it, do four coats - twice what they say.

87_wrangler yeah, i'll be doing it in my garage so im looking for the easiest kit to work with. my jeep has no rust at all and its an 87 so i want to keep it that way. i figure i'll do the inside one weekend and then try to do the outside another weekend. its my daily driver so i'll have to do it when i have enough free time..lol

jk'n Mine is a white jeep and lined white by a PO. It's a look. The most important part is the protection that it offers to the tub. Whatever color you decide on I think lining is a good thing.

Boykin18 I used raptor liner it's a spray on just like that here is a picture
