|Tressie||I'll be on Oahu in June. Military.|

|Mad dog 21||There are so many jeeps here but they (tourists) are not serious jeepers. After looking at your profile I see your military and most of us are military or locals. We are all friendly but we can help with any information that you can think of. Also look at the above posts for local clubs (oahu heavy hitters). I reside in pearl city but work out of KBay. I'm new to jeeps and off roading.|

|Mad dog 21||I'm very interested in going out with y'all. I'm very new to jeeps and off roading in general. I have some basic knowledge though. I have been reviewing, you tubing, forum hunting everything. So anything it better than nothing. Also I have played under the jeep just to make sure everything is we're it needs to be. Long story short, I will keep an open mid and learning on my own. Thanks again for all the information as well. I wasn't aware that I was in the wrong and I should know better than others except HPD. Thanks again.|

Like Jason said, Oahu Heavy Hitters is a great group. I was one of the founding members, but ended up leaving (LONG story I won't repeat, but BLUF, I ultimately blame it on my burn-out). They are very active and have some of the most collective knowledge of any group out there. There is also Oahu Jeeps, which is bigger, but I think less active as a group (more like a collection of sub-groups under one banner). Not knocking either, just depends on what you want.
Just do us a favor, keep serious wheeling activities to legitimate areas. DLNR can get a hard-on for Jeepers sometimes, especially at Ka'ena Point (on the Dillingham side).
All that being said, while I'm not a part of a group, I do go wheeling every couple of months. One of the guys I go with knows Peacock Flats like the back of his hand. You can hit me up via PM here or on Facebook (there are a million Kevin Parker's but not many in Hawaii, I don't think) if you are interested. Next trip is going to be in late March or early April.
Have fun and keep the shiny side, er, MOSTLY up.

My tire size is 35x12.5 O R 15 LT. Just trying to figure out my lift height. Anybody able to help me out here? I think it is a 3-4 inch lift, but I'm not sure.

|Alwayzforgotn||I'm here on Oahu, Red Hill area. I would love to meet up and hang out with some Wrangler owners. I did take a look at my suspension, and it looks like I need shocks. The upper bushing on my driver side rear is pretty much shot. Problem is I don't know what size lift I have to order new ones. I could use some help with it if anyone doesn't mind. I'm guessing it's a 3-4 inch lift, but I can post pics tomorrow if that would help.|

|Mad dog 21||I am kinda new here to the island. I'm in pearl city but stationed out of KBay. I have been to K point both on north shore and waianea several times. I heard there use to be a jeep club here but I would like to know if anyone wants to start one up.|

|cosmokramer||Welcome to the club. Which island are you on? Maui off road and 4 wheel parts are probably the best bet to have your suspension check out if you are on oahu. After searching and asking around, not many other off road places are reputable. Good luck.|

Just picked up a TJ yesterday! Proud to be part of the Wrangler Ohana. I think I need to get my suspension inspected before going wheeling. I can't wait! Anybody know somewhere inexpensive or perhaps want to meet up to school me on some lift knowledge? Really want to make a hobby out of this. Expensive hobby I know, but who can blame me?

Should that be Ohana Trails? I think I smell an autocorrect fail.
I order most of my crap from a distributor in Austin, Texas. Most of the time it's STILL cheaper than buying here after shipping.

Aloha. New to the island, windward side. Any suggestions for a good suspension shop on the windward side? Even if not on the windward side, any other suggestions on oahu?
I just brought in my lifted diesel yj that I got in Cali. Yes diesel, it has a mercedes 5 cyl diesel swapped in. However, it has way too much lift on it, and I can't even park at work. Currently has SOA, shackle reversal, reverse eyelet springs on it, and with the hard top sits at 6'10". I need a few inches (like 4" higher than stock) of lift to help clear the low oil pan on the mercedes, but not this much. Just don't have the tools and time to do it myself.
If there are any reputable jeeper gear heads, I would also be willing to trade my YJ hardtop for this work.
Let me know any leads. Mahalo!
