ReVibe Well that's good to know. I'll definitely look into it. It seems to be that every where i look everyone just replaces them immediately. I'll keep updating as I work.

tigerblood It could be the carb and/or vaccum issues. The carter usually begins to fail after 20 or so years, Read into the MC2100/2150 carb swap, you ditch alot of the vacum lines when you do it so it might be worth considering.

New to jeeps and the forum. Help? (yj)

I recently got a 1990 YJ (still carbureted) and I'm having some serious issues.
I'm pretty sure i have some vacuum leaks, it doesn't seem to drop into the passing gear when going up ANY sort of incline, which in turn seems to make it stall out.

Like i already stated, I'm completely new to working on cars and could REALLY use any help at all. It seems to have the inline 6 with a carter BBD, and when i got it i found hoses not connected, out ports for hoses that are just capped of and lines that are kinked between some coil.

Yes i realize this post is extremely vague, but please just bear with me.
