I was cooped up in the house most the day today on kid duty. I checked out the first half mile of the trail tonight. Like you said, it was ok.

I'm really looking forward to getting on the trail tomorrow.

musicforme How about outside of a Starbucks in Fountain Hills? There are a couple of gas stations in this area for anyone that needs to top off. I should be there by 12:15 pm, assuming I get out of church tomorrow morning at a decent time. I'll be parked a bit out from the Starbucks in my white JKUR.

I think this location would work well for anyone coming up from the Mesa area on Highway 67. The address of the Starbucks is 16815 East Shea Boulevard Fountain Hills, AZ. Their number is 480-837-1486. I called and confirmed this location is in the same shopping center as Target, but not inside the Target.

I'll send my contact info via PM to those that express an interest in this.

sittingduck331 What time are you planning on going?

Where is the meeting place?

I am in Anthem, wife and I were thinking about heading out someplace south of us this weekend. This looks good.

musicforme If time allows, I'm going to try and visit the trailhead later this afternoon. With all the rain we had the last two days, I don't want to risk getting stuck on my first time out.

AverageJK I did the 143 forest road and back through apache trail drive about a month ago when there was snow on four peaks, awesome drive. Going from snow on four peaks to dry and slightly warmer through apache trail is a nice change. I live in AJ, so its a quick trip for me.

musicforme Apache Trail is on my to-do list, but don't think I'll have time for it.

I have church on Sunday morning and can't get on the road any sooner than Noonish. This trail is about 30 minutes from where I live, which is one reason why I'm picking it for my first trip.

I found a web site called EveryTrail.com that has a corresponding iPhone app that downloads the trail map to your phone and isn't dependent on a cell signal.

I have a decent camera and looking forward to finding some safe spots to stop and take a few photos.

wrpnst1 Joel, the Four Peaks ride is a lot of fun and very easy. Just make sure you follow RT 143... I missed a turn a few miles in and wasted a 30 minute coming back.
You should come back by the Apache Trail, another fun and easy run. The whole trip is around 85 miles and will take you all day, so I would leave around 9:00 to get in all the sun light you can... Lots of great views and places for lunch....Have fun and Drive Safe....

Forest Road 143 over Four Peaks on Sunday, March 10th

Anyone interested in getting some dirt on the wheels on Forest Road 143 at Four Peaks?

It was mentioned in another thread this is an "easy" trail and will my first time out since getting my JKUR this past week. I live near Cactus and the 101 in Scottsdale and want to get on the road sometime around Noon.

If anyone is interested, let me know!

Joel
