heinzbean Hi Gary hope your enjoying your new jeep.
I was about to buy a brand new wrangler when they were about £18,999 (2010)there were warnings about how the price was going to rise significantly. I just thought how can the prices rise, were in recession , nobody has any money , no one wants to lend any money. And guess what they went up to about £25k .So I bought a 2nd hand one with 5k miles on it. I let someone else pay all the vat and tax on it .
The 2011 onwards are the ones to go for cheaper road tax £250 for the manual and a little more for the auto.. I turned the stop start technology crap off. save 5p in diesel and spend £500 on a new starter.

Grizzly-Chris Hiya Gary and congrats on your new Jeep.
I've owned different Wranglers for many years.
I personally think Jeep don't really advertise or market there products over here in the UK, also a major problem here we have a very greedy government that punish you for trying to get on in life,
My old 2009 petrol Rubicon only did 17mpg, also it was in the top car tax bracket so was a very very expensive car to run.

mhanksii Welcome to the Jeep family! and yes it is a Jeep thing!

I'm jealous of your 2.8, I have an American spec 2013 with a 3.6L gas engine and I would trade it in a heartbeat for a CRD!! I'm down in southern Germany

Our New Wranger is with us We took the plunge and bought a Black ,2.8 CRD,2 door, Overland , MY 2013.

...We have been told that Jeep Uk have only sold about 200 new Wranglers this year (2012)to date in the Uk ..it's something of a rarity in the UK ..the Uk motoring public just does not understand "its a Jeep Thing"... Unlike the rest of the world ! >>>>
