|creelclmsn||I always wanted a Jeep!!! unfortunately my Mom had a cousin growing up who had a CJ and rolled it doing something stupid in the mountains of Tennessee so she told me no, not as long as I was under her roof. Well as soon as I went to college I decided it was time! My first was an 03 TJ Desert Sand sport lifted and nice tires when I bought it. The only problem was I was in college and couldn't afford to keep gas in it. So after selling that one and missing it greatly I decided since I had a career I could get another one. The next was an 88 YJ rust bucket I bought in Alaska. That was when I fell in love with the YJ. After Alaska I moved back home to SC and had to sell it before I left. I missed it so bad living on the beach I bought a new JK. Never did like connect with my 08 JKU so I sold it. After getting married my wife and I moved back to charlotte and had to raise some money to buy a house so I sold both our cars and got her a brand new Hyundai and me a 91 YJ. I drove it for 2 years with no top or doors. Then my company wanted me to have a more "appropriate" car for a business man so I sold the 91 and bought a nice used 07 JKU. Then one day while searching craigslist I saw a 95 YJ up for sale for cheap and told my wife I was going to buy it to flip it. Well I didn't flip it and it sat for about a year. As my role with my company grew so did my traveling and the JKU was getting terrible gas mileage, so I parted ways with the JKU and bought a MINI MCS for everyday driving and kept my 95 YJ for my fun car!!! The good news is I still have a Jeep!!! The bad news is I wish I had taken all the money I put into the rest of the Jeeps I had and saved it to build this one. Slowly but surely the 95 is coming together!!! Cant wait to take it wheeling this summer!!|

|western196611||Mine was given to me by a good friend, I've been trying to work on the deal on getting it but was told that it was sold. I was heart broken. Just to find out a couple days later via a text and a picture, it was all mine!! It didn't look like it does now when I trailered it home but some long hours, many beers, blood sweat and a few curse words I got her running after it had been sitting for 2 years. Her name is Lucy and when she acts up, it Lucille!|

|Tim Stines||Growing up I always wanted a jeep when I was 6 I had an old power wheels jeep drove it around the yard, well when I turned 16 I got a truck as my first vehicle, I was then given a fourwheeler and I ended up selling that and kept trading vehicles went from the fourwheeler to a Cherokee but not quite the jeep I wanted kept it for a bit then traded for a 97 Camaro which is a rolling death trap only weather they are good for is sunny weather when the roads are dry I sold it for 3000, went out and bought a Durango for 900 all it needed was a torque converter so I spent 60 bucks for a new one and sold it for 3500 well got lucky and heard of a guy wanting to sell his 88 wrangler I was a bit iffy about it because of the age knowing that the chassis and bodys rust pretty bad here in Indiana and had went without a top for 3 years well I went to look at it and come to find out that it was garage kept all its life and only had just the slightest bit of rust on the door about a size of a dime and had a brand new top I bought it for 3000 and drove it away with a big smile on my face got it when I was 18 still driving it today 3 years later|

|markgrozYJ||I'm almost 19 years old and all I've ever wanted was a Jeep. I originally almost got a CJ7 for $500 (steal, right?) but the guy sold it right after my grandfather passed away so I never got a chance to see it in person. Then last summer I was about to buy a '98 TJ. After test driving it and everything, I found out it was already sold, I was furious. Then, my parents found my '95 Sahara with 65k original miles for $4500, I love it, and I'm happy I ended up with a YJ! Within the next month I'll be getting my 2.5" lift and I'm looking for some 31" tires. I'm hopefully working full time this summer so many more mods to come! Can't wait|

My Jeep is the same as the OP's, well it was. 1994 Sahara, forest green!
I've put a 4.5" lift and 33x12.5 tires on mine though. If all goes well, I'll be driving it again after this weekend. All the brake lines are rotted (surprisingly all original), so I'm redoing those, and I still have to install my SYE.

It sees jeep roads in the summer and snowy roads in the winter. It's primarily a gear hauler, getting me deeper into the wilderness than other people can go. Most of the time, it has mountain bikes, skis or backpacking gear strapped to it.
I always wanted a wrangler, and I love taking the doors and top off in the summer. Modding it has been fun, and a bit addictive. I don't look forward to driving it on the road, but welcome every chance to go off road.

|raysnutt18||'93 Sahara with SOA and 33x12.5 bfg. have found that the hardtop and doors are much happier in the garage and not on the jeep....I am much happier with that too|

|racer-xerols||93 YJ here, white half doors, gray top/interior, 4.0/5m, carpet replaced with line-x, no back seat, half top with tonno (warms up faster in winter), Alpine CD with Pioneer 4x6s, JBLs in sound bar, Infinity sub under tonno mounted in tube made from 12" pvc pipe and 2 BIG end caps. 2" shackle lift, 31x10.5, adjusted steering stops, mirrors on windshield for door-free summers, OEM TJ foglights wired to ignition on bumper between headlights; Hella square 110s (I think) on ends of bumpers wired to high beams. Always muddy, perpetual lifter tic, muffler inlet is leaking....but it's hella fun in the snow and it starts every time!|

^ Bad Arse Jeep!!
Mine is a '94, tan or something close in color. Still the same way I bought it almost 2 yrs ago, 3" body lift with 31x10.50's, except I painted the dash and door panels black instead of spice. I have also ripped out the carpet and am waiting to line the tub. Next in line are new wheels (probably just black steelies) and new meat (32x11.50's). Then I will work on saving up for a susp lift so I can ditch this ugly arse body lift.

Ok I will play. I run an 89 YJ that is Nearly Stock
To many mods to list, it would be easier to list what is still stock. Go to my web page fir more info if you want it.

Yeah I figured that out. ouch..
I never inspected the air box before I took her out. turns out the original owner took out the stock constrictor going behind the headlight so when I went into a little water it all went straight in.. and believe me I didnt want to replace a motor either...

Well, I bought an 88 4.2 5spd about 18 months ago. The first thing I did was take the top and doors off and put on a bikini top, what's the point of having a jeep if you're gonna be all closed in. Then had tranfer case issues so I put in an SYE and new rear cvc driveshaft. Next I re-did the brakes and repaired the exhuast. No Cat and Flomaster 40. Then the engine crapped on me. Put in a reman and removed A/C (why do you need ac if you have no doors or top) and all hoses and junk under the hood that I could.
Having to replace the engine has set me back some but my plans are to line the tub as soon as it warms up this spring. Get extended shackles, 31x10.50 tires, black rims, custom made bumpers and new seat covers.
So if you see me and puppy criusin' be sure to wave!!!!

|whitebuffalo||SYE is a slip yoke eliminator. it replaces the very tail enbd of your transfer case so your driveshaft can be longer. i'b bet dollars to dimes thats your problem.|
