Peters Mill is fun, but any stock jeep and most stock trucks can make it through just fine alone, but Flagpole is a bit more intense. If you have never done flagpole dont go alone unless you are prepared to recover yourself if you get stuck. Flagpole is stock friendly too, but you need to be much more careful and a spotter is good to have in a few areas.
My family (wife, and two boys age 8,5) like Peters mill run because it is fun and fairly short (1-1.5 hours) but Flagpole can take 4+ hours which as much fun as it is for me driving my family gets a little tired. I would say try flagpole with a group first and maybe try to leave the little ones home the first time so you can decide if it is right for them. You dont want them to have a bad experience and never want to go Jeeping again.

IMO PMR isn't challenging at all...But, it's a good place to go for a first timer...
