I welded up the tie rod and drag link this weekend. I'm not crazy about how close the drag link joint at the pitman arm is to the tie rod so I either need to get a flat pitman arm or move the steering box forward.
I'm dropping off the d60 tomorrow to have the gears set up. I will probably get the 14 bolt gears setup as we'll this week. It's finally looking like after almost 5 months I may be driving the jeep in the near future

I finally got a chance to work on the jeep a little bit yesterday. I got 1 of the shock hoops welded up. I also ordered drive flanges for the D60 and some parts to put together a hydro assist steering setup. My pass. side high steer arm and 1 ton gm tie rod ends showed up today. Last week My arb compressor came in so I started mounting switches.

|solman||I really like the AEV hood but if I were going to spend that much it would be on something more functional like a genright stretch gas tank.|

Here is how it sits now. If I mount the hoops here I will have 4" of uptravel and 8" of droop, but I am still not happy with how tall the jeep is sitting. I will probably put shorter springs in the rear to drop it about 2" and figure out a way to mount the front hoops higher.
By lowering the jeep i will need to high line the front fenders, cut a little more off of the rear wheel wells and cut out a spot in the floor in the back to keep the upper links on the rear axle from bottoming out.

|a48jeep||Wow, really excellent build. I just read the whole thing- better than TV! I have the same posts for my sway bars on my frame rails- if you don't mind, what kind are they?|

|solman||I started mocking up the coilover hoops this week, I'll try to get some pics up tomorrow.|

Just now saw your post... we had run it once this summer and once this fall. We have been playing on some of the back sections of the park for a while and were hanging out with Scott while he cut new trails the one day too. It's definitely fun to play in all the new stuff. I'm excited to see what the next few years hold for RR.
Bob that looks great, are you doing all custom steering? I figured with moving the axle forward you will need to relocate the frame bracket for the track bar anyways. You going with stock, assist or full hydro for the steering? We will all have to get a wheeling trip together at rock run this summer.

I spent some time yesterday mocking up the front axle. I bolted it up with the old currie short arms as a reference for where the dana30 was. I extended the arms 2" and that is where it will sit. I also cut off the spring/shock bracket from the frame to make way for the coil overs. Now I need the cut off the frame side control arm brackets to start laying out the new long arms. I also realized that I will need to cut the track bar bracket off the frame and replace it with one that will accept a regular johnny joint and move it a little bit further so that it clears the truss.

|chop110||Hey Solman, what kind of fittings did you use for the 3/8" fuel line extension? I can't find anything that is fuel line specific.|
