|rusty1||Going in on Thur. Place outside of Sandy. $210 per axle + gear oil and other supplies. I already have the gear sets and master install bearings but the prices he quoted me on those wasn't bad. Let me know if your interested and I'll get the contact info. He can be a bit hard to get a hold of.|

|stretch05||Rusty, did you ever get gears installed? Mind sharing where and how much? I'm debating between 31s and 33s on my 92. If I went 33s, I'd probably go with new gears.|

|rusty1||The 3.8 can't be any worse than my 2.5. That's why I'm going to 4:88s, so I can make the the jump to 33s.|

$210 per axle sounds pretty good. Whatever shop Jeff found sounds really good.
It's one of those upgrades you just have to bite re bullet on. It's a shitload of money for something you or anybody else will never see, but if you have the gutless 3.8 like I do it's a world of difference.
Even with only 35 though I wish I had gotten the 513's. or a supercharger !

|rusty1||I asked Superior for a quote last year when I was in there and no one ever got back to me. I might check back with them though, that's only because its close. I can walk to their shop from my house in less than 5 mins.|

I paid a total of $1,000 for parts and labor for my JK to go to 5.13's. But I had a lot of issues after the install. Not with the gears, but other issues.
You can find deals out there. I know Northride4x4 runs a $999 gear special, granted they are a little ways away.....
Had a buddy who got gears done at Gresham 4-wheel drive, he was happy with the job that he returned for some other stuff. You might want to check out Superior Off-road and see what they charge too.

|rusty1||Thanks Jessie, when I asked at 4 wheel parts they quoted me $1800 which I thought was rather steep. I found a place in Sandy, Four Play Offroad that will install for $210 per axle plus supplies so I'll go that route. Thanks again for the reply.|

I have a 2010 JK 2door. I called everywhere. Jeep dealer forget it 3k. Leonard is a grump, don't bother. Pat at good guys auto in clackimas did it for $1800. Appear fly the JK's require a bearing kit the TJ's don't, or something like that. He was cool, and got it done fairly quick. Just tell Jim not to paint your diff covers. Mine are now bright red. Lol
Also, LandcruiserNW 503-224-5115 quoted me at $1800.....
Good luck man

Gear swap help
Ok, I pulled the trigger and got a set of 4:88s and master install kits. Now I need to find shop or someone qualified to do the install. Does anyone know of a good shop/person that's up to the task at a reasonable rate?
