Eonblue8 This place looks good, now only if I can get off work lol... Is the water really deep there? Do you have to have anything special to drive through the water?

motokeen Me and my friends go there all the time. It is one of the better places I have been in our area. Here is the link of some pics when we went last july.

idiot magnet Our group would go on a regular basis and some a lot more than others. Check their calendar to see if there is anything going on that weekend. They have a lot of trec races and a WEROCK event there.
Fun trails, rocks, mud, stream and sand are some things you will find.
Try and get a bumper with the hitch built in and it doesn't sit below the bumper. Air down your tires. Bring a CB, recovery straps, tow hooks front and rear, tools, fluids, fire extinguisher and do a search on what most guys bring.
Have a great time there.

Eonblue8 Wow sounds like you've been there a lot.. I need to add a trailer hitch before I go, I'm really debating on either getting a bumper with a trailer hitch or just getting a trailer hitch that mounts to the frame.. I have a little rack to like carry the tent and coolers. So I won't be hauling anything heavy & I never plan on it.. It's mostly for the tent and since I live in the city so people won't be parking on my ass.. Any suggestions? So do you go to badlands a lot? I'm going I believe July 16th through the 19th or 20th..

idiot magnet Post up your trip with dates on here and Jeepforum and you'll get other guys from the area going.
They have added a ton of new obstacles there from mild to extreme. There are bypasses all over the place to avoid the huge ruts. There's a big variety of trails and depending on your Jeep you won't be disappointed. If you go by yourself find another group to ride with that has similar built Jeeps. It's tough to get lost, but if you go with guys that know their way around the place they can take you to trails that you normally won't be able to find.
Summers is a great place to relax after wheeling and you wont be woken up in the middle of the night like at the badlands campground. The primitive campground area is away from the rest of the campers and they leave you alone unless you get really crazy.

Things change there all the time. I used to live near there and went alot. (In NC now for the last 6 years). They have several levels of trails ... some extreme, and some that are basic. None are simple rides thru the woods, but at times the trail does do that. There's also a lot of other things to do there... Sand pits, rock quarry, a rock garden. I never got tired of going there. You won't be dissappointed!

jp2611 Not sure of your plans today...check the Hoosier thread page is the Freeze out at most good parks there are places to get around or away from the extreme stuff but at the same time it also has some things that should be attempted by trailered trail rigs or buggys know 40" tires and fully locked..good luck!!

Maro35089 He said there was really deep holes and groves dug in from big ass tires. I'm not sure if they have fixed it up since then but deff go with a group because you will get stuck
