|Trailsnail||I've got Race Ace Run Cools on my hood. No temp diff at hwy speeds, but up to 20 degrees cooler under hood on the trail. I left my hood on to cut the holes and laid plastic sheet over the engine to catch the metal. Your temp gauge may always show 210, but under hood should still be cooler. Hoses and other components will benefit|

|BurlySoldier||you say it allows heat to escape the engine compartment which i am sure it does but have you noticed any improvement in engine operating temp at highway speed or on the trail? South Carolina gets plenty hot in the summer. Both sets look really good. The gen rights on that Jeep pictured especially.|

I've installed two sets...one on my fathers Rubicon and one on mine. Both were easy to do. I'd advise taping everything off and checking and rechecking to be sure that your measurements are correct. I layed everything out from the flat edge at the rear of the hood. Its the only straight edge on the thing..after that just follow their instructions. I used a drill to radius the corners and a jigsaw with a metal blade.
Its also much easier to remove the hood from the jeep and set it on a set of saw horses.
As far as function...they work very well at letting heat out of the engine compartment and we have had no issues with water, etc.

|O_M_Jeep||It's really where you like it, mine are a little further forward than the website shows, but you can lay them on the hood, get them right where you want them, then I used a dry erase marker to mark the 4 holes at the corners, then taped over them (you can see the marks through the tape), then layed the louvre on the marks and traced it out for cutting. It works way easier than you will believe, very simple to do.|

There are a few other write ups on the Gen-Right installs, try google and they should be easy to find. Another nice thing is you can mount them on the side of the hood or in whatever place/configuration you like. One of the best $99 I ever spent.

I use the 5 pc Gen-Rights and they work exceptionally well, never have had any trouble with water or any other issues. For the price I would buy them again.
Easy to install, I used painters masking tape, traced out where they mounted and cut and drilled, used a tiny seal of silicon around the edges and riveted in place.
One word of advice, they show using a metal whole saw, I found that to not work well, it cuts like crap, I used a 3" cut-off wheel and made the holes rectangular instead, the large front louvre is of course 2 holes to save the center brace. I have no warping, weakness or bouncing in the hood and they are almost 2 years old now.

I like those. But, went with the Poisen Spyder hood louver. One piece, less drilling bolt holes.
I just have to find the time to install it.

Gen-right Hood Louvers
Anybody ever used hood louvers?
I want to add them to my mods list for this summer.
Any Problems with them? and what all did it take for installation?

I want to go with the Gen-right 5 piece hood louver set so if you have them your input would be awesome
