She sounds wise. She has lived a full life. Sometimes as our parents kids we just got to listen and agree.

That's what my Grandmother did.

Told my uncle one morning. "I've been here long enough. I'm ready to go to heaven now. Visit me by 3:00 or I won't be here" He got there at 4:00 and she was already gone.

I wonder if they are giving up or deciding they want to go to the next level.

You and your Mom are in my prayers.

RKCWLER I still can't post more than one picture from my iPhone. When is this going to be fixed?

Here is the first poser shot with the 33's.

RKCWLER After I finished my business and Apple Valley, I took the back road to Silverwood lake and ran Cleghorn to Highway 15.

I bought a couple of Nema electrical cabinets a few years ago. I'm using one, 18" x 36" x 72" tall, for an armory. The other one, pictured, I want to put glass in the doors, add some legs, paint it and put it in the house for a gun cabinet.

XJ_Phil Ok, what I believe to be the very best advice I ever got, was from a man who had been happily married for some 50 years. He told me "if you want your wife to be the queen of your life, you need to know that she is, and treat her accordingly" She is, and I do. Our marriage just keeps getting better and our friendship stronger 22 plus years later. Needless to say, the strength of our relationship has spread to our children.

ELMOSYJ A shy asked me once.

When you leave the sheriffs department what will be your legacy ?

My response was my work how I do my work.

He responded why? Your just a number in the county. You think anyone will remember you when you retire? Your legacy is your family, your kids enjoy them while you can and while they are young.

Best advice I ever got.

XJ_Phil One of my few surviving friends from high school told me way back then that one of the primary objectives in life was to make memories, so we will have something to share when we are too old to make any new ones. Trust me when I say that I took his advice to heart, and have made enough memories for at least a half a dozen normal people.

Serg5000 Bob I learned that making the best of this life is most important after talking with my father Inlaw whom just past of cancer. He told us not to get hung on the small stuff like work or bills. Focus on family. Make as many memories as possible. His biggest regret was not spending more time with grand kids.

Gunner Hi Guys.
Still here in Hemet spending time with mom. I have been following along and just lurking. Mainly because i am pretty deep in thought a lot. This experience has taught me some important things. The biggest is that when it is all said and done what you have left is your memories and having those you love around you. We are spending our time reliving old road trips and funny experiences. I don't care that my mom was a liberal and that I am just a bit to the right of Atilla the Hun. Not that voting isn't important because it is such a special right we have here in the states. Our memories are making us have a magic time.. I am saying that we need to go make special times with the ones you really love and treasure them. You never know when they will be all you have left of them or them of you. Life is so fragile. I am really going to pour myself into my kids and grandkids when this is over. I have so much to do in a short time. I have a lot to make up for. I will be wheeling and maybe some camping. We will see what happens. I want to really reconnect with friends and family. I guess that my time as a gloomy gus is over. Mom is getting anything she wants to eat. So dinner was a big bowl of Blue Bunny Ice Cream with chocolate sauce. She refused to eat hospital food. The doc said anything was better than nothing. So she gets ensure, some Corned beef hash with egg for breakfast. Popeyes chicken and meat lovers pizza. She may actually have put on a pound or two. But she is getting weaker. If your praying people I could use some this way for my little mommy.
Thanks
