Water Leak on Stereo

So quick question you said you sealed everything you can think of.

So is the stereo getting fried in heavy rains light rains? You mentioned next light rain it is fried, so if that is indeed the case I would look at your top? Is it a hard top soft top? Biknini Top? Also have you sealed all of the firewall pass throughs for the stereo and lastly I would look at the electrical relay connection for the stereo it connects behind the glove box to a terminal relay that is attached to the airbox. It is a bad design in my opinion you could consider using wire water proofing on this relay and test it same stuff recommended when you do the Nutter Bypass or HEI upgrade. Lastly look any dash cracks right above this terminal or relay what ever you want to call it. I will take a picture of what I am talking about in a couple of days after this weekend, sorry going out of town.

If that helps.

Also all this thinking I am doing is based on theory I have no radio just happen to take the dash apart this week while I was tracing an electrical drain or draw for another issue and happend on the radio wiring harness.

Beachcruiser Yep, they're rough on electronics.

Best bet is to move the stereo to a console location.

Water Leak on Stereo

On my 95 YJ, the last 3 stereos have been fried by water. I keep thinking I finally have it sealed, hitting it hard from all directions with the garden hose after putting it back together, and the next light rain finds its way to the stereo again. I sealed up the air intake, around the windshield, wipers, and every thing I could think of. Please help. Thanks.
