|ohioviper||Well its a done deal. I just placed an order for the Tera Flex JK 2.5 without shocks from Krawl Offroad. I will be ordering Disco's and the Rancho 9000 XL 29 and 30 shocks to go with it. Will I need anything else ? Will I need coil spring clips or limiting straps or exhaust spacer with those shocks giving longer travel ? What about brake lines are the brackets good enough ? Is anyone else running this lift with the Rancho 9000xl 29 and 30 shocks ?|

Well Im still sitting here reading and my head is still hurting trying to decide which way to go. I guess its come down to do I want to go big or go cheap. I like the Rancho 2" kit with shocks price but is it going to give me some flex for the trails. Will the TF 2.5 spring kit need any other pieces to have a good ride with flex ? Will the RK 2.5 stock mod nickle and dime me to death later with needed upgrades to get a trouble free lift ?
I can do the Rancho 2" now and have what appears to be a complete 2" lift with the 9000 XL shocks I want for a killer price from Amazon with the rebate but will I be happy with the ride and handling and will it flex ?
I can do the TF 2.5 spring kit and buy the Rancho 9000 XL 29 AND 30 shocks and need to add what else as I get the money ?
I can do the RK 2.5 stock mod and the Rancho 9000 XL 29 and 30 shocks now and add the front LCA and extended brake lines and what else as I get the money ?
I dont mind adding more things as I go but I dont wont something thats going to eat my drive shafts or be flighty going down the road as a DD. I also dont mind the larger lift with smaller tires as Im not doing this just for looks but want some flex and a smooth ride on the road.

How's things? I remember are trip to "URE" - felt like we all wore the same thing to the party since most everyone was rolling the OME shocks in one variety or another. How are your Duratrac holding up?
I haven't seen Pluke in here, but does Synergy make a 2.5 inch progressive coil? You might consider that as an alternative since Metal Cloak was on your list but doesn't seem to do a 2.5 inch for the 2-dr.
Sometimes, Franken lifting makes things easier. If you know what shocks you want, you're really just spring shopping. So, that means either linear or progressive rate. Pick a couple manufacturers you trust and shoot them messages for the spring's free length, rate and length at coil bind. Should give you all the info you need to make a good decision. Alternatively, you can call someone like Northridge 4x4 and let the do the leg work for you and make some recommendations.

The caveat is that if you install the rear sway links as advised you'll *probably* need wheel spacers or aftermarket wheels, and I believe you'll need an exhaust spacer for your 2012.

|ohioviper||Can you run the TF 2.5 spring kit without needing anything else asides from shocks ?|

TERA or AEv Will put you close to listed height.
MC doesn't currently offer a 2.5" for a 2 door.

I'm gonna subscribe to this because I am in the same boat as you right now. I have been looking at and contemplating the same lifts as you for the same reasons. The Rancho seems like a great deal, think 35's would fit with it? They advertise 33s. I know you have 33s now but u said u were thinking about 35s in the future, not talking you out of the Rancho just debating things myself. Also, I recall seeing someone on here who had the TF and had to put a 1 inch spacer in the back with 35s to get a little more flex room, is this common? I am not trying to thread jack just trying to debate some of these lifts to help the OP and myself figure out what will be the best fit for us.

Ive got a 2.5 RK, Stock drive shafts.
I try to wheel as hard as i can. I dont think you'll have a drive shaft problem.
Im looking to upgrade it in the future, I like that I can keep most of the stuff i bought in my kit when i take it higher.

|MTH||I'd expect you'll be fine height wise with the TF 2.5" coil lift. I have one on my 4 door, and ESP has one on his 2 door. Others here have them too. I've never heard of anybody needing a driveshaft after installing that lift.|

|ohioviper||Thanks for the tip.I have also read that post on the Rancho 2" and it is an option I am looking at as well. I guess I dont mind more than 2.5" as long as its not gonna eat my drive shafts. Not worried about looks more interested in a smooth highway ride and more flex when on the trails. Are the guys with the TF 2.5 spring lifts having issues later on with drive shafts ?|

Have you looked at the 2" Rancho lift? You're already going with their shocks, and there's been a number of threads about their stuff lately. I think, with a $100 rebate, you're looking at something $300. I don't know how good it is, but man, at that price, you should at least look at it...

Time for a lift and my head is hurting.
Well after working the past 44 days mostly 12 hr days without a day off the brinks truck dropped off my check and I am ready to buy a lift. I have poured over the forums for weeks now.
I have the Combo and might go to 35s later on but doubt it as I dont want to spend the money on gears. What I do want is a good ride on the road as this is my DD but also want some extra wheel travel for occasional trail ride. No rocks just trails and mud.So I am looking for a 2.5" lift that I wont have to replace drive shafts down the road. I am going with the Rancho 9k shocks for sure.
I am looking to stay around a grand for shocks and lift. I really like the RK flex or stock mod but it seems on a 2 door it will lead to over 3.5 of actual lift and drive shafts later on. The TF 2.5 with out shocks is where I am leaning. I also like the AEV but dont want the Bilstons shocks as I am hard set on the Ranchos and the idea of being able to adjust them as needed. Also looked at the metal cloak 3.5 but not sure if it will be like the RK and need drive shafts down the road.
Open for ideas and suggestions. Not really wanting a BB I would like some good springs with a good ride while not having to replace DS.
