scubapilch I just can't find another one for a decent price I would like to get one already lifted but I like doing my own work if I can get one cheep enough I have no prob buying a lift kit and doing it but I can't find one worth my time

I would pass personally. But in the end it is your call. If those are the only problems and you feel comfortable fixing them go for it though.

scubapilch It's at a dealer and the guy won't let me take it apart but that's what u was reading its either the ground or the plug for the cluster gets corroded and we didn't have the manual but we looked at every fuse and they were all good none blown Idk if I want the jeep it's a 99 4cyl 5speed with 198000 miles in it for 3200 he has if out front for 5000 so he is giving me a deal for knowing him its all stock needs a exhaust manifold gasket and cluster fixed i don't know if its a good deal I plan on lifting it wheels and tires what do u guys think about the deal ? Most likely a bad/loose ground. Another member just posted a similar issue. Turned out to be a bad ground on the dimmer switch.

You did check fuses right?

TJMichael I had a 99 Sport that did that while still under warranty with about 20k on it. The Jeep dealer said that was a common problem on 1999 models, something to do with a connection behind the instrument cluster. They fixed it in just a few minutes, and it never did it again while I owned it. My 2000 has never had that problem. If no one on here can answer your question better, maybe you could ask a Jeep dealer that has been in business since 1999.

thinking about buying a 99 wrangler but nothing works on the dash just the odometer i have no clue what it could be any help would be nice thanks.
