cavsvet74 I just looked up the Illinois vehicle code. The extra bit I mentioned is no longer there. Hmmm.

If you search the forum for this subject you may come across the thread where I had posted previously.

mpoberg So.. if such cargo was higher than tailgate, or spare tire? Then one or two side mirrors? Where did you find the info? All i saw was what i posted from a 3rd party site.

cavsvet74 Correct.

But, if you keep reading, you will need the side mirror if the rear window is tinted or the view our the back is blocked (by a tall trailer or cargo filling the back of the jeep).

Jeep Side mirrors?

(625 ILCS 5/12-502) (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 12-502)
Sec. 12-502. Mirrors. Every motor vehicle, operated singly or when towing another vehicle, shall be equipped with a mirror so located as to reflect to the driver a view of the highway for a distance of at least 200 feet to the rear of such motor vehicle.
(Source: P.A. 82-122.)

So... Am I to assume that I do not need to have side mirrors on the jeep? The center window mirror seem to fulfill the requirements? Anyone know for sure?
