I just looked up the Illinois vehicle code. The extra bit I mentioned is no longer there. Hmmm.
If you search the forum for this subject you may come across the thread where I had posted previously.

|mpoberg||So.. if such cargo was higher than tailgate, or spare tire? Then one or two side mirrors? Where did you find the info? All i saw was what i posted from a 3rd party site.|

But, if you keep reading, you will need the side mirror if the rear window is tinted or the view our the back is blocked (by a tall trailer or cargo filling the back of the jeep).

Jeep Side mirrors?
(625 ILCS 5/12-502) (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 12-502)
Sec. 12-502. Mirrors. Every motor vehicle, operated singly or when towing another vehicle, shall be equipped with a mirror so located as to reflect to the driver a view of the highway for a distance of at least 200 feet to the rear of such motor vehicle.
(Source: P.A. 82-122.)
So... Am I to assume that I do not need to have side mirrors on the jeep? The center window mirror seem to fulfill the requirements? Anyone know for sure?
