Second number shows the sidewall aspect ratio (height) of the sidewall in percentage of the width value: 75
So, for a 285/75R17, you have a tire width of 285mm and the height of the tire sidewall is 75% of 285mm which equates to 213.75mm tall.
285mm = 11.2205 inches wide
213.75mm = 8.41535433 inches tall
So, you can take the wheel size: 17
add it to 2x the sidewall height: 16.8
and can reasonably assume the 285/75R17 tire is equivalent to a 33.8 x 11 x 17 tire.
Yeah, I know... a bit late, but none-the-less.

|mpaone1040||thats a great look, I am putting on my rock krawler 2.5 flex in a couple weeks and I want to stick with the stock sahara rims(because I like them), can you tell me what size spacer you are using?|

|Thatguy93||Love mine but they rub the fender when I'm disconnected. That's with a teraflex 2.5 coil lift and flex arms up front. They measure up to almost the same height as the 35 inch pro comps on our yj.|

Nitto trail grapplers on 18 inch XD Addicts. I saved every penny I had and finally got the set up I wanted. Love the look of this combination and they aren't too loud on the road either.

Will these tires fit on a stock JK ?
I'm looking to put 285/75 r 17 Nitto Trail Grapplers on my Stock JK Unlimited. Will they fit with no spacers or a lift without rubbing ??

I just got my first jeep, a 2011 unlimited Sahara tan! I have been looking at tires and had decided on trail grapplers, but was worried mods would be required. I prefer to use my stock rims (18's) and was planning to have them powder coated. This thread has been very helpful! Thanks guys for all the great information!
If I understand correctly, the 275/7o-18 will not require any mods?

|jj77||Nitto tires are awesome! However...Terra Grapplers hold gravel like crazy! I live on a gravel road/gravel driveway as well. I will sling rocks for 5 miles down the road with these things on my Dodge Ram. I wouldnt get them again for my Jeep because of this. But they are awesome tires. Very heavy though. Didnt mind on my Hemi Ram with 3:92 gears. Dont think I would want the extra weight on the Wrangler. Just my 2 cents.|

I've been running 295/70r17 trail grapplers for about 4k and absolutely love their on and off road characteristics. Just enough hum on the highway to know you're driving mts but not too much to annoy you.
They have been wearing great (so far) and have pulled me through some pretty deep stuff off road.
I'm running the aev 2.5 dual sport suspension with bilsteins and can't say enough about the lift. 17" rugged ridge wheels with wheel protectors... I know I haven't dinged them up on rocks yet but I've only had the protectors on for a month
Also these tires measure out to about 33.5" and 11.5" wide. Fit on stock tire carrier with no mods to third brake light. Just had to get the day star bump stops because the stock ones wouldn't reach the tire due to back spacing. No popped welds or problems offroad as of yet but a reinforced carrier or bumper/tire carrier is one of my next purchases.
Can't say enough about Nittos and haven't ever met any other jeep owners who have said otherwise
