Timberwolf local shop had 180rnds of 5.56 or 200rnds of .45 in ammo cans for $99
they had .223 and just about any other caliber in stock with 5 box limits
still no .22

gander mtn and bass pro have been useless unless you want 12ga target loads
06-29-2013 07:49 PM
jydder Picked up a S&W M&P today and got 5 boxes of 9mm at Cabela's. Big improvement since the last time I stopped in and there wasn't a single new pistol on the shelves and the ammo was gone by 9:05AM.

BlueRidgeYJ A few days ago the local wally had steel 5.56 and 22-250, 9mm, .17, 30-06, and a few other rifle cartridges. Not much, but a bit. No .22 or brass 5.56 yet.
06-29-2013 05:03 AM
brandon-99tj Yup. Im even starting to find 5.56 locally again. Still not much .40 or .45 though....
06-28-2013 10:49 PM
1jeeplvr Looks like ammo is starting to be in stock again.Im seeing stock of 9mm at cheaperthandirt.com

1jeeplvr Im sure it will pass it will just take some time

jadmt yea but when am I going to get my Glock lol. I just read they are now 1.2 million behind in orders. I have to admit BO has been good to the gun manufacturers pretty sly devil how he pulled that one off. I am thinking he has family money invested in Firearms companies somewhere down the line sneaky sneaky.

cavediverjc Ammo is first to go, then reloading components. They all went. Reloading components are the first to come back, then ammo. Well, reloading components are slowly becoming more available, so ammo should start showing up with some regularity within the next month.

BlueRidgeYJ A few nice deals:
https://armisteadguns.com/hot-buys.html

They had some olin 855 5.56 for .35$ rnd, but it got scooped up.

Mags are not ammo, mags are what the ammo goes in

Carlsbad0331 Picked up another 500 rounds of 5.56 and 250 rounds of .45acp yesterday. Things are getting better.
03-24-2013 10:23 AM
Z-TJ I got 525 rounds of .22 and 300 rounds of 9mm. I sent my wife into the store and there was no limit when she purchased, I on the other hand could only buy 1 box per caliber

More refering to the national run on all things firearms, not comments here. The Feinstein bill is gonna get squashed, ammo will not be banned, and any awb that gets a vote will very likely have a sunset. The concern with ammo, though, would be a law requiring serial #s on boolits and casings, something that would increase price and slow production. Mags... well that is (probably) a different story (3D printer and free software says what!?!). No arguement can be made to their requirement if not for militia purposes. Of course, we beat the Nazis with 7 pops and a ping. A line of men with 10rnd mags is more formidable than a smaller group (1/3 as many) wih 30s, imo.

As far as machine guns there isn't a ban technically, its just that there is no way for non-government parties to register new machine guns and get the tax stamp. Eventually we might see an attack on the Hughes Amendment in court but that will require a significant culture shift in the current Supreme Court based on questions they asked during Heller.
Which is why any gun owned legally before enactment of the 1986 legislation could be maintained, if registered. Miller arguements did more to restrict 'militia style weaponry' than Heller, but both were aggressive towards restriction of it.

odd42 I happened to be at bass pro on 12/20, looking at gun safes, you would have thought 12/21 was going to be a zombie apocalypse, never seen that many people buying ammo
03-23-2013 11:42 PM
Coronatj I managed to pick up 420 rds of 5.56 today at one place. 100 rds at another.

Things will loosen up.

BO has done less to restrict gun ownership than either Bush, and certainly Reagan; the 94 AWB only passed because of a preset sunset - Clinton (or Bush) had nothing to do with that, although Dubya supported keeping the ban in place permanently.

Faux news (and corporate media in general) fear-mongering caused a run on manufacturers, along with billions of rounds going overseas, resulting in less available product. Ammo manufacturers are operating at or near to capacity, but they cannot get the components fast enough to go faster. Gun manufacturers cannot get steel for barrels fast enough, and it is consumer driven - not government usurpation.

Can we climb off the 'Obama is gonna steal our guns' b***s*** yet? Lmao.
Not lil ole obama lol

Y-Guy I've been going by our local Ranch store almost every day or two and picking up my limit of 3 boxes of HSM 40. Wife and I need at least 1250 rounds each for the Basic, Advanced and Competitive Pistol courses, plus any recreational shooting. It sucks but I appreciate that I can pick up those three boxes every day at least... for now.
