HK_Runner I will try to figure something out for that wiring harness. It stays in the bracket meant for the 7-pin, but with enough constant movement, it may wear out. Hopefully, the slightly longer hitch receiver will not drag at places like Moab's Fins and Things. I doubt it will.

Yes, but it is not ClassIII/IV equalizer rated like the DrawTite is. The DrawTite also has 1/2 and 5/8 pin holes. The bracket wont do you any good if you need a 5 or 7 pin connector. None of that will matter unless you are planning on doing heavy towing though.

dieselgiant I just ordered the other hitch they sell that has a shorter tube so it wont stick out so far. It comes with a much nicer looking wiring harness and has a bracket welded on the hitch for the connecter to slide on. I have a co-worker that put the exact same hitch on his Jeep and it is very nice and fit very well.

The Draw-Tite (Hidden and Reese are the same - just a different sticker) has a mounting plate welded underneath the hitch toward the front that will accept a bracket. It is intended more for a 7 pin than a 4 like stock. I put mine, which is a 7 pin, there for a while but it is kind of a pain to get at so I drilled two holes in the cross member and mounted it to the side of the hitch. The standard Jeep 4 pin connector is molded unlike a regular 4 pin and won't fit a standard 4 pin bracket that you find at etrailer, etc.

HK_Runner Mine came with a wiring setup but the Draw-Tite does not really have a nice piece welded on (like the OEM) where the end of the harness can clip in. So I kinda rigged/wedged it in for now and will have to figure out a better method once it warms up a bit more.

HK_Runner Great. Thanks for the quick reply. By the way, the Draw-Tite (and I am sure, the Hidden Hitch) are a few inches longer so while you lose some departure angle, bike racks will clear the spare tire. I went with a 1UPUSA after having owned a Thule T2. The 1UP is a fantastic bike rack, and made in the US...Wisconsin, I think.

Draw-Tite Hitch: Fit problem

I recently ordered a Draw-Tite hitch from Quadratec and during the install, I noticed that it was not as snug as the stock one. There may have been 5 mm of extra space where it fits onto the frame. I tightened it down anyway. I have not towed anything and it was mainly to get the extended length for my bike rack to clear the spare tire.

I emailed Quadratec's local (on this forum) and heard back once, and then it has been radio silence even though he asked if I wanted him to contact the parent company and I said Yes. Then I emailed back twice asking for an update, with no response. So I'll just use someone else from now on...no big deal.

My main question is that since it is all tight, there should be no issue in case I need to tow something, right? I'll check and re-torque all the bolts but thought I'd check here to see if any of you have experienced the same thing and if it is a big deal. Thanks!
