Architek Help! - I have a 5 person condo reserved for Easter Jeep Safari next week that I unfortunately cannot use. I am hoping to find someone that can take the reservation over. Reservation is for Wed-Sunday and the condo is in downtown Moab. Please message me if you are interested and I will give the details. Thanks.

Moabite Check Outlaw Jeep Rentals next to City Market. I don't know much about the other rental places in town, but Jim seems pretty meticulous about maintaining his vehicles.

Moabdan There are several rental places here in Moab. The Adventure Center, High Point Hummer, Moab Tour Company, Cliffhanger just to name a few. I know several have been bringing in extra for Jeep Safari so if you call around there might be one available.

damndirtydog You may have a point AMangum and rent the jeep in SLC. It won't be a Rubi but Yetti could do some of the easy to easy/moderate trails and at least have a Jeep. There's about 5 outfitters in Moab renting jeeps.

damndirtydog Have fun. The scenery is amazing.
P.S. While you're there, be sure to make a run up to Deadhorse state park. It's about 20 miles up highway 191 between Moab and I-70. I'm not going to clue you into what you'll see, but it'll be the best $10 bucks you'll ever spend and the scenery will blow your shorts off.

damndirtydog Hey Yetti, just got back from Moab last week. I rented from Moab Adventure Center. They were cordial and all but I was a little hacked off when they gave me a Rubicon with death wobble. Unfortunatly I was 20 miles away and almost to the trail head when I hit a bump in the road a 45 mph and the jeep started doing the Harlem shake, I had to come to a complete stop before it would cease to wobble. Did it 2 more times on the way back.
What I was unhappy about is that they knew the Jeep had problems. But they rented me the 2010 jeep with death wobble while they had 6 other newer jeeps on the lot that weren't rented.
The rental was $155 plus tax = $191.00 and be prepared for a $1000 hold on your credit card. P.S. call your credit card company and warn them that you will be making that charge. My first 2 cards wouldn't go through.
Fox car rental at SLC airport rents Jeeps but you won't get a Rubicon.
I just posted a thread on here last night, "A flatlander in Moab". I don't know how to attach it to this thread, but its got some nice pictures.
Have fun!
If you rent from one of the Moab outfitters, they'll give you a detailed map and description of each trail.
They go from easy level 2&3 to moderate 4s&5s to difficult 6,7&8s. Stick with the moderate trails so as to avoid any damage to the rental Jeeps. They look them over with a fine tooth comb when you return them and charge your credit card up to your insurance deductable.

There are a few other rental companies with Wranglers in Salt Lake City as well, but this close to Easter Jeep Safari, if you don't already have a reservation you won't get one. There used to be a place to rent them in Moab a few years ago and I am not sure if they are still around any more. If they are there still, you absolutely won't get one there this late.
Check to make sure what restrictions the rental companies put on your use. Some restrict what offroad places you can and cannot go. Also check liability provisions/record.

The Yetti Alright, thanks for the info!
