As far as the big nut. Im gonna use lots of "deep creep" and a big breaker bar I guess. I dont have air tools.

best way to remove is a large screwdriver, it doesn't just come out. pop it by putting the screwdriver behind the seal on the top, and slam the bottom of the screwdriver against the bottom of the housing as leverage. kinda hard to explain.
or for someone with less experience here, you can use a small chisel and tap the outside of the seal out toward the front of the axle from behind the outside ridge.

|Rawkon||jpdocdave is pretty much on the money. getting that pinion nut off can be a chore, most likley you will need an impact with lots of PSI behind it.|

|KBR97||ok sounds easy enough. Thanks. One more question though. When you say pop the old one out...do i need a tool will it just come out wby hand...pull it with pliers, screwdriver??|

ok, sounds like rear axle pinion seal. and its very easy. remove the straps holding the u joint to the axle yoke. a pry bar will pry the d shaft away from the axle. it slips into the t case without being removed.
remove the big nut holding the yoke on the pinion gear. tap the yoke off the pinion gear with a hammer, pop old seal out, pop new one in.
most important thing is this nut and reinstalling the yoke. put the yoke back on, and tighten the nut. the nut is technically one time use only, get a new one from the dealer, or here's what i do: simply use some blue threadlocker and retighten. it is important to make it tight, but do not overtighten and change the preload on the bearing. a strong impact is fine. tighten it back up, and rap it about 4 times after its tight. do not simply reuse the old nut without threadlocker, it has a good chance of coming loose.

Speaking of Leaks???
Has any one replaced the front seal in there rear where the driveshaft goes into the housing? Was it hard to do and do I need any special tools?
I'm usually somewhat mechanically inclined.
