I'm going to use a strong paint remover similar to this: Mar-Hyde Tal-Strip II Aircraft Coating Remover Aerosol 3711
Minimal sanding and likely Duplicolor Engine Enamel (+ Clear Coat) unless I can find a closer heat-resistant color match for Chrysler PW 1.
Want it to match my exterior.

Be it known: Those buggers are hard to get out! Prying with screwdrivers proved to be the best technique but still difficult. I'm going to attempt a quality paint job on the valve cover (match body paint) and I didn't want to scratch the valve cover at all while removing these. That just makes the prep work more of a hassle. I managed to keep the screwdrivers from scratching it.

Just got back from Car Quest.
Ordered both CCV elbows with rubber grommets. They had to go through a dealership and referenced my parts and VIN numbers.
Total cost (both CCV elbows and new grommets): $35... would have been only $25 but my Car Quest charges a $10 pick-up fee since the dealership is about 70 miles away. I live in the mtns (rural) so that's not bad at all. Parts will be here by 3:00.

The front elbow part is indeed a different part from the rear.
The rubber grommet parts are the same for both.

You listed one vent and one grommet. Can I assume that these parts will work in both breather holes? I will need both. They look similar on mine but one is black and one is gray. Pretty sure they are the same, correct?

Local parts stores were a bit a hit & miss if I recall correctly. Dealer carried both & were under 6$ each.

|SurfKaster||Break them out. I snapped part of mine when I replaced my gasket last week. Bought a replacement & by the time I ripped the old one out it was in a hundred pieces. I recommend replacing the grommet too.|

Operation brute force has failed.
I broke both of them and still can't get em out. They'll rotate and come up maybe 1/16" but really stubborn.

Valve Cover Question
I recently performed an engine swap on my '01 4.0L
I salvaged everything from the old engine... this is the valve cover and I plan on painting it (Duplicolor Engine Enamel, etc).
I'd like to remove the two plastic fittings (PCV?) prior to paint prep and don't know the best way to remove them.
That's right... I can do an engine swap and many other things but little stuff like this befuddles me. I excel at breaking plastic parts and will probably wind up breaking them if I don't ask here first.
Any advice much appreciated.
