By a new Sport if its primarily a DD. then, if you want to offroad, you get to upgrade it exactly to your liking and with lower monthly payments too.

|Jawanda||true they are not cheep. price mentioned on window stickers is without discounts. they are asking 27 k for sahara and 26k for rubi. both are same colour, hard top. sahara has leather sheet covers and rubi is cloth. and i think rubi have heavy gear, differential lock system and batter( may be for off roading) suspension. please correct me if i am wrong and/or tell me more difference :-)|

|swampbuggy98||WOW!!! I don't think I could justify spending that much even if I had it, but if you've got it and you don't plan on offroading I'd go with the Sahara. If there's any chance whatsoever that you might take it down some trails you might want to drop the extra grand and get the Rubi since it's already got the Dana 44s and locked both ends.|

Thanks very much guys for you valuable suggestions. i surfed at internet about difference between cj, tj and JK. its at bottom of this post if anybody new(like me) need it. dealer i spoke to have two 2012's available, one is Sahara and other is Rubicon. and i am bit surprised that Rubicon is $1000 cheep then Sahara. i am attaching window sheet of both. please suggest which one is batter and if i need to buy any additional features. Also is there any difference between Rubicon and sahara suspension.

First off, Welcome to Wrangler Forum! second, I can say that from my experience my Jeep is one of the best cars for long drives. I drove from Dallas Texas to Gainesville Florida (over 1000 miles) in one day! I didnt feel bad at all when i got back! the only thing that hurt was my wallet a little... i have 33s with stock differential gearing. i filled up 5 times so i spent about 350 in gas (not too shabby, but im broke because i mod my jeep) all in all heres my jeep stats
Ride Comfort on the highway 7/10
Highway speed 55-65ish (because of my tires and gearing)
Mileage about 375-425ish per tank (again because of my gearing)
Reliability on road 9.5/10
overall 8/10 for long distances

A 2 door is tiny! Almost everyone I know who has a 2 door removes the rear seat in hopes to gain some room, but still it is small. Even with the rear seat in, it is not really an option for someone to sit comfortably. A 4 door is so nice to haul stuff around and when there is someone who does need to sit in back it has plenty of room. The rear seat of a 4 door also folds flat for more hauling area as well. Gas mileage between the 2 and 4 door models are about the same too.

|Reaper2332||I have owned 16 different vehicles in my 11 years of driving. I just bought my first Jeep (2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited) and I love it! I know you said you want the 2 door, but I will make the recommendation of getting the 4 door due to space and overall safety. Also I will give you the heads up about offroading, it becomes an addiction. I said the same thing about not going, then I went once...... now I look forward to going every chance I get. Also you will start buying other stuff for it like rims tires lift air systems lockers gearing bumpers rock rails and so on.|

Jeeps are also strong vehicles that will last a lifetime (if taken care of properly). They are fairly simple machines as opposed to the crazy computerized vehicles of today. Keep up on your oil changes and it should be good to you for as long as you keep it.
As for which model is best.... that all depends on what you are looking for. I would gladly take any jeep (wrangler model) offered to me, but when looking for a daily driver I would go for a JK. The JK models are comfortable and have the luxuries that are expected in todays vehicles while still having the awesome exterior look of a jeep wrangler and the performance to take you anywhere. The older model jeeps are very plain and simple in the interior. They are built much for as a fun vehicle that can go anywhere.
The next thing to think of is if you are financing you will get a better %rate buying a new or newer vehicle.

|JP4VPI||Wikipedia has all the breakdowns for the different models. It's prolly easier to just look them up n do a lil reading. Iv never had any dealings with a jeep dealership so I couldn't help in that department. I'm partial to the tjs. The newer model JKs are a bit high tech for me but still great jeeps|

|JP4VPI||I have a tj and don't know too much about the JKs but I do know there are issues with the cylinder heads on the 12 jeeps. Watch out for that. Also it's the most comfy vehicle iv driven for hours at a time.|

planing to buy a jeep!!
how are you all, guys i am planing to buy jeep wrangler( not unlimited). my requirement is to commute to my work everyday(max 20 miles a day) and go for long drives, like from VA to FL, PA, TX etc once in 2 months, i mean when i say long drive i am talking about app 1000 miles(round trip) or more. i don't do off roading. don't have a kids. this will be only vehicle i will driving(not like one car for job and another for family and fun). i really like jeep looks and style. i never had it before this is gonna be my first jeep. i am not much worried about gas millage. can compromise on it( 15 city and 20 long is kind of ok with me). but i am worried about is how reliable is it. i don't want to pull on shoulder and call tow truck often, HOW expensive is its regular maintenance, and HOW well it perform on long drives, HOW much its gonna effect my insurance, HOW comfortable is it on long drives, should i go for sport S or Sahara and please suggest any thing else that i need to consider before buying my new vehicle. these days i am driving nissan maxima. i am getting good deal on 2012. should i go for it or spend some more buks for 2013.
