|ocbasbalburg||The mopar tube side steps look great IMO. Perfect fit with the lines of the jeep. Jparts . com has a good price and they are very easy to install.|

i started a thread a few weeks ago, and didn't get much feedback.
nonetheless, i had ordered a set from ebay, for $99.00 it was plastic, 'where you step'. thought it was rubber when i ordered it, but it is more of a hard abs plastic. for $99. i won't complain. black, and seem to work just fine. bit of a biotch to put in, but, once i got the hang of it, me and a friend had the other side done in 10 minutes.

|ocbasbalburg||I just ordered the mopar tube side steps from jparts.com. Should be here mid-week. I figure since I won't be rock crawling either that the best fit would come from a factory product.|

Tube steps - feedback
I bought these 3 inch tube steps for my 2009 JK(X) 2-door...
Sure Step 3" Side Bars by Smittybilt and Other Jeep Parts and Jeep Accessories by 4 Wheel Drive Hardware
Unfortunately, the steps did not fit. The distance between the two sets of bolt holes in the tubes was too great by about an inch. The holes would not line up with the brackets. I suspicion that Jeep changed the spacing of the holes in the body, and Smittybilt hasn't picked up on it. I talked to the Smittybilt tech and he "just couldn't understand how this could happen." Big help that was!
Before that experience I had ordered Rugged Ridge oval tube steps through Quadratec. The Qtec blockheads sent me the 4-door version of the steps 3 TIMES! I finally gave up on Qtec -- 3 strikes and they were out of my life. At least UPS made out on that deal.
Both products seemed to be well made.
Anybody had success in finding tube steps for a 2009 JK?
P.S. This JK is used for dirt roads, not rock crawling.
