Pitboss33 Probably would have made them easier to do, but I was to chick sh$@ to do the ones on there, so I used my buddy's old ones just in case it didn't turn out right.

MosesTJ Ummm, butter? Why didn't you trim them while on the rig?
07-23-2013 05:57 PM
Pitboss33 Cut the stock fender flares with a dremel tool, and picked up some edge trim from oriellys to clean up the edges. Pretty easy to do.

kappaknight Interesting... I never tried to take the grill off of my old TJ - but you can pop the JK's grill in about 3 minutes.

Don't get any ideas though.

Not sure but either way i think keeping it on is the best way....took me an hour or less to do it
04-24-2013 04:49 PM
kappaknight Hah. Awesome. Is it hard to pull the grill off or something? I never tried.
04-24-2013 04:36 PM

04-24-2013 04:34 PM

On top of the perch? Seems like you get rolling and bumping and it would fall and get into some kind of mess.

Get 2 bolts with cotter pin like you did with the link. Spin the link up to the frame and make a mark where the hole in the link is. Drill the hole the size of your bolt.now push the bolt from inside out and you can spin the link back up and connect. Insert cotter pin.

kappaknight I'd tie the sway bar links to the sway bar. I'm sure that's what you meant though.

Trail-Hated4x4 So just tie them to the axle?
03-29-2013 06:40 AM
Harleyrider1108 Zip tie them out of the way.
03-28-2013 08:56 PM
Trail-Hated4x4 Tie? Never heard of that. I just let the links hang.
03-28-2013 07:28 PM
kappaknight Do you tie the sway bars when disconnected?
03-28-2013 04:55 PM
Trail-Hated4x4 Another cheap mod I did was the quick disconnect that everyone probably seen sometime or another on this forum.

Not the best. But it does it's purpose.

Trail-Hated4x4 All together I spend about 60 bucks pair of steel pipe. Paint. A buddy and I welded them on the panel. Then primer and painted. Then just bolted back on my jeep.

Next project is building a rear bumper. Then later adding a swing out tire carrier.
03-28-2013 04:18 PM
Trail-Hated4x4 Just added the expanded Metal on the bottom just to make it look different and for safety reason. Kids. Bent the pipe welded to the stock rock panel that comes with the rubicon. Then painted it.

kappaknight Did the grate come with it? I wonder why... Unless you're panning for gold boulders, it'd just collect stuff.
