The simplest method.
Ground (large gauge) from battery to engine block.
Positive wire to ignition coil to provide spark.
Use heavy gauge positive from starter and strike onto positive of battery... (remove when started) If you have a starter coil then wiring it up would be a much better solution.
You are going to need to check the fuel and prime if needed. It's also wise to prime the oil system before starting a motor that's been sitting a long time. You can do this by removing the distributor and insert a priming tool to catch the oil pump shaft for rotating with a drill.

Here is my question, I am going in the morning to look at a 76 CJ5 the wiring harness in the jeep is gone and the ignition column is jacked. The guy swears the engine was rebuilt and runs (LOL)
If I bring a hot battery and fuel or starting fluid what is the quickest way to by pass all the jacked up wiring and at least try to get it to start so I know the motor at least will try to start or even barely run.
can someone give me the procedure on a quick way to rewire the 304 engine to try to start it with a remote starting trigger from under the hood..........Any help would be much apreciated (Its a 76 Levi with a 304)
