You need to determine if the inability to restart is due to spark or fuel. Spark is fairly easy - you have it or you don't. Fuel could go either way - to much fuel it will not fire and not enough fuel it won't fire. I would check spark first and if it has spark pull a spark plug to see if it is wet or dry.
All that will do is help ID the problem area but the actual problem may be harder. It could be that the computer is running the few minutes in open loop mode but as soon as it switches to closed loop the feedback loop is doing something that kills it.
Let us know what the base problem is (above) and we may be able to help point you in the right direction.

I have no idea how im going to fit my flowmaster under my Jeep with those long arms. I can put it way in the back where the gas tank used to be but I really dont like that idea.
So...the Jeep runs for a couple minutes and dies on me now. Once it dies it won't restart for about ten minutes. Any advice on where to start?

|daddyjeep||Thats what I do Joe. It's a cheap temporary solution. Once I get some headers and dual exhaust it will get done right.|

|0III0forlife||Oh, that looks like some backwoods engineering|

Started working on the exhaust tonight. Have to route it from the stock ZJ Y pipe up above the tranny cross member. Not quite a mandrel bend but it will do.

|daddyjeep||No exhaust after the Y pipe. It should sound pretty good once I get my Flowmaster on there.|

|daddyjeep||Thanks. Thats a weld on skull from Ballistic Fabrication. It' on my shock tower brace.|

Got another ECU tonight and guess what?

|daddyjeep||Been looking for an ECU. no luck yet. I can get one from ebay, but would like to find one I can borrow to see if that is the issue. I am thinking my issue may lie in the Throttle position Sensor. According to the test procedures in the manual it is no good. The output voltage ranges from 65 MV at closed throttle to 1.5 volts at WOT.|

If it's easy, see if you can find a spare ecu?
Check all grounds, and maybe add a couple more. Can't hurt.

|WICruiser||Sounds like the injectors are not firing. Your tech should be able to check to see if the injectors fire with a NOID light.|
|06-26-2014 03:29 PM|
|daddyjeep||Fuel pump is hooked to the ECU. It is getting good power while cranking and giving good pressure while cranking.|
|06-26-2014 12:36 PM|
|indirocz28||I might have missed it, but is the fuel pump hooked to the ecu, or do you have it hard wired to constant on with key on?|
|06-25-2014 08:34 PM|
|daddyjeep||Still not getting anywhere. I pulled the IAC...no change. I finally hooked up the CEL and got 12 and 55...so absolutely nothing. I have a Chrysler tech digging into this, thanks 0lll0 for life, and he is telling me it is not security. There was no SKIM in 95. Still need to verify a few voltages again, but not seeing the light at the end of the tunnel yet.|

|killswitch505||Just read the whole build pretty freaking cool hope you her her fired up soon|

I would dig into the security side and see what kind of scenarios others have had.
|06-23-2014 09:59 PM|
|daddyjeep||Well, still no joy. Swapped in a new distributor this weekend, no change. Checked fuel pressure. Fuel pressure is at about 54 pounds. That is a bit high with the WJ regulator, but should at least run. I am thinking it is a security problem, but I am not convinced. Every once in a while it will run little longer than the usual 1 second. I don't know... still digging.|

|daddyjeep||Thanks, hopefully I can make some headway this weekend.|

Check to see if there is some sort of immobilized security setting for the original setup.
Sounds like that's a plausible issue.
I've dealt with that on GM swaps in the past.

If it fires up but then dies it doesn't make sense that the rail is clogged or the injectors are bad. Checking fuel pressure will help isolate if the problem is a lag of fuel getting to the rail or injectors failing to fire.
Sorry I have not been tracking the entire build so I am not familiar with what your engine/ECU history is. A lot of times there is an oil pressure connection to the ECU such that if the engine looses oil pressure the fuel is cut off. Is if possible that the oil pressure sender connection to the ECU is missing, or the pressure sender is bad?

I had a Chrysler teck at Bantam go through the Jeep. He tells me thay all my wiring looks good. He verified all the circuits and said the 5v & 8v circuits were good everything is getting power when it should. He could keep it running on starting fluid. He said to get a fuel pump. So I did, no change. I took it back to him and we bypassed the regulator, no change. He said either crank or cam sensor. Idk...I was talking with a guy from the Quadratech race team and he doesnt think that sounds right. He is thinking fuel problem. Maybe clogged rail or bad injectors. I am going to check fuel pressure and go from there.
As always, I'm open for suggestions.

This is how it looks at the moment. It looks ready. I just wish it was ready.
