Ziggy12 Just painted my D-Rings red.

Used the Rust-oleum primer and red protective enamel ($10 and a couple hours of work total.)

Easy/cheap to put another coat when it gets scratched-up.

Eh, not worried about it; it was offered as a freebie when I mentioned I was thinking about painting them. If they get mucked up, I'll touch them up or just leave them; what's a few battle scars?

Senior Chief In the middle of painting mine. Jeese! Paint doesn't like to stick to zinc plated parts...

That is a good idea. I'll have to ask about that when I finally get to drop mine off for powder coating. A big YEAH for you on dropping yours off! I know your super excited to get it back!! Pics when you get it on your jeep!

Perhaps they will start painting their hooks and can copy some of the ideas from this thread. I have no problem if they want to paint them bright red like mine. While the 10a is a relatively nice factory package, it certainly doesn't rise to the level of anything that deserves to be copied, counterfeited, emulated or envied.

As for the red Crosby D-rings, it didn't do me any good to buy red ones. There was almost no red paint left on them when I received them from Quadratec. They just tossed them into a box with virtually no packaging materials. Maybe other people have had better luck.
I ordered Crosby D-rings from Quadretec too. Mine also were just tossed in a box and all the red mostly scratched off. It wouldn't hurt them to spend .25 cents on a little packing material.

Never heard of Gorilla tape. Sounds like your temporary fix was a good one! Now to google Gorilla tape! Thanks for sharing!

Well, you probably don't care, but a bunch of people stood up for you and your record on the forum after the original post. But, still, you're right, a lot of that thread has just grown absurd.

I like the red accents...on my Arctic, the Rubi shocks are red and then I put an Aruba license plate on the front which happened to be red (huge fan of the Caribbean), so I was thinking red d-rings would look cool...ya know, like yours. Sucks they came to you all scratched, but they look great now.

I was accused in that thread of wanting everyone to think I'm driving a 10A.
