Does it bother anyone that with the swing out tire carries you have to open two things to get in the trunk?? and do they ever hit each other when open.
I know my trunk door sometimes swings back if im on level, just wondering if they run into eachother?
I know best top doesnt have either one of those problems

I cant find one on the website that says it will fit an 06. They have them for the JK and for 86 to 05. Kind of weird.

|Jerry Bransford||One more cool thing about ORF's spare tire (& optionally jerry can) holder is you can run any bumper and/or receiver hitch you want since it doesn't need or attach to the bumper.|

I didn't see anyone mention this one. 4x4ROCKSHOP.com
It looks similar to the JCR. My goal is to add a drop down tail gate and get rid of my trailer hitch. So I need a swing out spare and a intergraded hitch that I can use to tow my light trailer with. It would be cool if the swing out carrier would lock in the open position too.

The other thing that drew me to the Garvin system was the hitch is a rated class II or III hitch. Can't remember off hand. Either way I've landed that thing hard on some rock and it's barely scratched. It also comes with a number of brackets and plates to help distribute load on your current xmember on the frame and mounts that go right to the frame.

|Jerry Bransford||That the gas cans are mounted so high up wouldn't make me happy at all on an off camber trail. ORF's mounts them behind the spare tire.|

|Jwolfer||I really like the looks of the Garvin rack but my concern is that the Jeep is my DD and I don't really need/want the rack and jerry cans with me at all times.|

I like my Garvin Tire Carrier system for everything I can carry outside of the Jeep for my extended Baja trips. With the rear mounts reinforced, it has no problems carrying the additional load on the trail, or just to the beach in Baja.

|TJgunner||I want to mount my spare in the back between my ammo cans. Anyone have photos of this? I run 31's and dont plan on going bigger so it fits fine. I got the old ladies car to haul groceries LOL the jeep is the toy|

|Jwolfer||Also, I've noticed most bumper hitches aren't rated for towing. Does anyone make one that is rated for towing?|

|rjdriver||Right now I have the Bestop bumper and tire carrier on my TJ love the design and actually have had no problems with it but getting it to me was a nightmare to say the least it took 3 times(over 2 months time frame) before I finally got one that wasn't damaged badly enough that I would accept it. Now I fault UPS for most of it but the packaging was pure garbage, Finally on the 3rd one they had bounce checked it on the end and it was missing powder coat and bent a brackett but I straightened it out and painted the bare spot to match the rest of the powder coat .... that the hell of it you pay almost $800.00 and still have to fix it when you get it.... but on another note, I used a Jeeperman on the front because I needed a 2" receiver for pushing aircraft around..... now this is one class act, really nice bumper and it came packaged in plywood, UPS damage the box but it never touched the bumper call it (sacrificial packaging) being all said and if I had to do it again I like the way the tire swings with the rear gate but I probably would have gone with a Jeeperman in the rear too.|

|Jwolfer||I like the JCR but I need a bumper that stores full size jerry cans, not rotopax. I like the looks of the Garvin system. You have to buy the rack with the jerry can mounts separately though correct?|

I've been super happy with the quality and strength of my Garvin. Take it or leave it but the pivot bolt is something they would use for a bridge. It locks down tight, holds my 2 jerrys and high lift, and has a trail rack easily mountable if you want. And it braces against the tub so the load is distributed out.

For me, the JCR is the best design out there, the Rotopax tanks carry less but also weigh less and take up less room allowing the tire to be a lot closer to the body...
I just wish it wasn't so dang expensive!
