It has nothing to do with the doors coming off, I've only taken mine off once. Its because the hinges are aluminum and I guess if they are not prepped correctly before painting they do some type of reaction and the paint bubbles.

I'm not sure the exact term, but it looks like they were rusting under the paint, that's what I thought it was. It wasn't until the paint chipped off that I could see they were not rusting and they were aluminum. The guy at the bodyshop sounded like he has seen a few cases of this and said it was due to not prepping the aluminum correctly.

It's covered under my 36-36,000 warranty so my dealer put a rush on getting the repair approved and getting the work done. I'm at 33,500 miles and it goes in Monday.

They all have the bubbles under the paint, but the passenger side, top hinge, on top under the mirrror has a big chunk of paint that just flaked off.

What's your plan for steering ? JCR makes a really nice over the knuckles cross over one ton high steer setup. ..my son has it on his Xj...it rides nice and high up out of harms way.

just some ideas for you.

The thing is I don't drive the LJ daily. I'm mostly concern on the long weekend trips. Like going up to big bear, vegas or Yuma it's going not be so much fun. But I'm still not a whole 100% sure on it.

Keeping up speeds would suck. Don't plan of regearin till after the end of the year. Don't know I would love to own Kevlar MTRs or General Grabber red letters.

I would walk it in. This way you leave with proof you paid and the warrant is clear.

I actually said, "I think I can bring it up on my phone" when he handed me the ticket, and I asked if I can just email it or what. That's when he told me I would get info in the mail. The whole thing is just stupid, I can't go over to the court until after a meeting this morning and I'm anxious to just get it settled. It would be nice if they have court in session and I can just go see the Judge while there. I went online last night and printed off 3 copies of the current card!!

Serg5000 Good morning everyone.

Last night I found out what a blowout was like.
I forgot how violent. They are.
09-17-2014 10:17 AM
Ditchdoc But handing over your phone to a member of the government allows them to go trough it and use anything they can find against you.

09-17-2014 06:47 AM
XJ_Phil That FTA will go away as soon as you show up this morning and tell the judge that yesterday's letter was the first notice you received, after the nice officer told you to be watching for it in the mail.

"You can imagine my surprise your honor, after he told me the fine would likely be twenty dollars or so. I'm sure it was just an oversight on my part."

You might not want to do that thing with your hair that you girls do. The way this has gone so far, you will probably be standing before a woman judge!

I'm pretty sure the Illegals around here that get citations for no insurance don't show up and don't pay a massive fine. They just head for the boarder......maybe that's my other option, hahaha

Maybe you could head to Big Bear. They'd never find you there!
