correct,it is a cj3a,made from 48-53...and the 10th digit on the serial number being the year didn't start until 1981..serial number plate is under the hood on the firewall..serial number should consist of a standard prefix that tells the model followed by a 5 or 6 digit serial number..get the serial number and I can tell you more about it

YJ325i that vin system will not apply to that vintage. This month JP mag has an article on how to be a vintage guru. Obviously, I have not read it....lol

Tarby Looking at the windshield, it looks like a CJ3A, but people did swap them out. Production was from 1948-1953 from what I understand.

Need some help with identifying this jeeps yr

Have a friend who just inherited this and we are trying to figure out the year and where we can get parts for the top. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys
