Bestop Trektop is your choice
If you are considering the frameless top go with the Bestop trektop NX.
It comes with new header channel, tail "catches", rear window bar, and door surrounds. everything you need and are missing. At least it use too. i bought one when they were brand new and figured that is why it cost a little more than others. It came with replacement for everything except the clips in the Jeep.
the new surrounds look like the old ones but i changed them just to be safe.
Have a set with the old top and frame sitting in the garage. thinking about taking and getting the one bad zipper (driver side rear window) fixed and selling for more upgrades.

|JeepandMud||I just bought my used Bestop, practically in brand new condition, off Craigslist for $50 including the screws.|

|kosmo04||I have the Rampage, and I know for a fact the Bestop door surrounds, windshield channel, and tailgate bar will work.|

|slathrum||Well, after checking out that top selector app at Quadratec it appears I have a Bestop Supertop. I looked at the installation instructions online and it appears all parts are there. I guess the door seals are supposed to contact the canvas directly. I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to do to get this thing to seal up now. So aside from the doors fitting differently than other tops, do you think the windshield and tailgate bars will be compatible with a Rampage frameless top?|

When I bought mine I noticed this too, and the Bestop kit ended up coming with the rear tailgate bar as well, smittybilts are just the surrounds from what I remember.
Plus if you didn't have the door surrounds you'd notice right away, not just from wind noise.

|Big Sarge||You may have the supertop and they do not use the factory style door surrounds.|

|Neil F.||The Bestop Replace-a Top side windows have the angled line like the factory to so I would guess that it is a Supetop Classic. In which case, the surrounds are totally different and Bestop only. Go to Quadtatec and they have a softop identifier and pictures of the frame styles|

|slathrum||Honestly, I'm not really certain which Bestop it is. If I had to guess I would say it's an older Replace a top. It looks like that one, but does not have the angled line on the rear windows. At any rate, I'm going to be changing it out with a Rampage frameless in the near future.|

First off, when you say Bestop, do you mean Bestop fabric on a factory frame of a Bestop Supertop (classic not NX)
If it is the factory frame, Bestop of Smittybilt will work (are the Smitty actually available. I believe they are new and there were some recent posts that they were not out yet) Note you can get surrounds on ebay. The going price is around 100.00. Make sure the knobs are included.
The Bestop Supertop (classic) uses their own surrounds. The NX uses factory surrounds.

Aftermarket door surrounds
Just bought my first Wrangler, an '05 X. It came with a Bestop soft top but seemed a little noisy, which I now realize is because it's missing the door surrounds!
I've been looking at Bestop and Smittybilt surrounds and have found the Bestop's at $140 shipped and Smittybilt's for $100. Is there any real difference in these, or is a surround pretty much a surround?
I've searched and haven't found much regarding differences in the two, if there is any. For some reason the Smittybilt's only picture the product on a JKU, even for the TJ's. Definitely looking forward to a less noisy ride!
