zanewolfgang Is their anyone else that has experience with this kit? It would be really nice to just flip the front back on short trips instead of taking the whole top off.

Adding the hinge is not foung to cause it to leak and it will latch down just like it did before.

If you don't want to use the Sunrider feature, just don't use it.

Neil F. I made my own conversion a couple years ago (pretty cheap). I cut the bars, and made my own hinges using some used bow knuckles. I went through a couple versions of hinges.

I can't tell how the the ebay kit does it. You have to be able to lock/hold down the top behind the hinges. I first did it with straps (worked so-so) then I engineered using pins that went through the bars.

The other thing is and you don't really need it is the OEM and Bestop sunriders have a tube that slides across the hinge when you have the top up. I was never able to find some kind of tube to work. Without the tube to keep the front part together, it does flop when putting the top up/down. It is fine once it is latched.

I considered if the whole thing FUBARed. I could put the bars back together by inserting a tube/round stock into the cut bars and use a holdown screw.

Greenliftedtj97 I'm curious about the same thing, I've heard from others that you have to cut your spreader bars to accept the supplied hinges. That has me kinda worried about not be able to go back.........
