|markgrozYJ||Just wondering how much you guys paid total for the jack and the mounts for the hood? I love the look and I know it'd be a good investment|

|AMP'd||Finally done! Received the mounts a few days ago but wasn't able to catch any spare daylight from work until today. Really satisfied with the mounts.|

I put mine behind my spare on the carrier out back.
As far as locking the jack on, you have to unbolt the license plate mount, remove the spare tire, remove the cable lock (gun lock) then unbolt the jack from the 2 mount points.

Seems to me it would be nice to have it mounted high on the back. Like mounted vertical or horizontal on top of the tire rack. Then the rest of the tools are probably in the back anyway. Not to mention the spare tire itself.
I've also thought about mounting it behind the front seats, as low as possible. Out of sight & the weather. Might have to remove the base to do this.

I have mine on the hood and like it being there. I've been stuck a few times and if it were on the back bumper I would not of been able to get it. Front bumper is ok but the hood works the best so far for me. Now if I get to the point where I can't get to it on the hood, I'm going to need more than a hi-lift!

The foot is not on it on this picture but it fits on and ends up flush with the outside of the body. Just need to figure out a way to lock the tire carrier closed to secure the back doors and the jack.

|tchoberg||Mine is mounted on the swingout tire carrier and the foot sticks out a bit but I have never had a problem with the mount as it is very secure and does not rattle.|

So I decided to make my own brackets. They r made from one of the bumperrets that came off y back bumper. I use a torch to heat the bumperets and then bent then how I wanted them. I ended up mounting my mini shovel on top of my jack.

price is right for sure! I wanted a set for my YJ about a year or so ago, couldn't find for under $60 with shipping & all. I only make a few bucks per set after shipping and manufacturing but the idea isn't to make me rich, its for hooking up other jeepers with a more realistic deal on something trail tested and not chinese!
My latest challege is keeping up w/the demand. Every time I restock we're sold out within a week or two. I think the shop has a couple processes figured out though that will decrease production time, we'll see on the next run.

I got creative and used spare parts laying around for the install. (no cost involved) I have rubber spacers below to keep it from rattling and rubbing on the fenderwells. Here's a closer shot....
