JethroDawg Not sure where the best dealership is but I know where a very bad one is.
I just bought my 2012 Jeep Wrangler Sahara from Heritage Jeep Fiat in Owing Mill. One of the worst experiences in my car purchasing life. Tried to low ball me on my trade-in, promised me the world during the test drive but once we got in the office they turned into a "stealership". 3 things I asked from them at closing. 1. Give me two working keys. 2. fill the tank up with gas 3. Clean the Jeep inside and out.
Told me I could order a second key for $200, gave me half a tank of gas, stating that was their policy for used cars and forgot to vacuum out the inside of the Jeep. Will never go there again!

PX8Sahara Another Tate Jeep in Glen Burnie. My salesman literally went down the list of rebates, noticed my insurance was with USAA, gave me the USAA price without me even asking, Military discount, this and that. Ended up getting my Sahara for almost 13k under MSRP. They also sold my Dad his WK2 and treated him amazingly as well. Their computers are hilarious though, some straight Apple II looking machines lol.

JeepWranglerNation Currently and after the great customer satisfation rating I'm going to give Ourisman jeep of Clarksville.. I'd have to say Ourisman jeep.. Thou they don't have all the bells and whisels as Adams or Tate.. But I think with a dependable and on time service department.. Great staff and helpfull techs that walk even the most experanced Jeep driver through the service process, It's made me think how the other guys should be.

Mike Gardner As for me I shopped around for my first Jeep. I got it from Adams, that was 1996. I'm a pretty loyal guy if I like the people I'm dealing with. Adams always took care of me and didn't treat me as if I was to young. I've bought 8 Jeeps there and they are the only dealer I've ever bought a jeep from. I know 100% that I didn't get the lowest price with som of those deals. I've seen my deal jackets now that I work there. (I've been there most of the time since 1999) My opinion on it was they're allowed to make money and they take care of me and always have. The sales guy knew me and I'd send him customers, the service department knew who I was and always helped me out. They seemed to be as devoted to helping me and making sure I was happy with my experience as I way loyal to giving my money to a local business.

Now that I'm one of the head sales guys at Adams I go way farther then any sakes guy there has in the past. Each month I let one sales person chose 10 customers and invite them to a discounted cost trip to Rausch Creek. I guide the trip and custom tune it to the level of vehicles and experience levels of the people going. We mostly run Green& Blue but some blue/black options if people want to take that route. I do this so all our customers can get to know their jeep. It's fun and sometimes turns your average soccer mom into a new jeep mom! Not just some mom driving a Jeep. Again, these aren't just my customers but every sales person gets a month to do this. Adams also has their Jeep Jam and we're at most of the events in the mid Atlantic. I'm working on us branching out even more and I will be at Quadratec on the 12 for the Tent Sale.

I guess my take on "the best dealer" isn't about saving $3000 on a JK. it's about THE BEST DEALER. I tell people that I will not give someone 2% below invoice just because some other dealer does. A sales person deserves to make a living just as everyone else here gets a paycheck each week or however your paid. I once told a customer to go buy a jeep from the dealer 15 mins from me. After he had been referred to me from most of the police in his department he said he was going to go there because they'd save him $300 more. Then he said he'd come back to go wheeling with me and acted like "it's cool bro"..... No go to T______n and have those guys take you wheeling.

So this is my question to everyone. What makes your dealer the best? I don't want to hear dollars and cents. Money doesn't make your dealer the best. If money is the only reason your dealer is good you're not looking at the whole picture.

If my CJ is parked out front I'm there. If you'd like to joint us at Rausch the trip is open to everyone. It's about wheeling, not selling. I'm a Jeep nerd first, I just sell them for my job.

I had a simular experience, I tried several dealers and ended up buying at Criswell in Rockville. I use Adam's for service though since criswell is 90 minutes from me.

live_slow I just moved up here and had a chance to meet the guys at Adams today.

I needed to change the oil, and my townhouse and carport storage are full of boxes. I'm not going to DIY it for a while until I get everything sorted out. I've still got Jeep parts to go on that are somewhere in the sea of boxes.

Anyway, everyone there was knowledgeable. You go chat with most dealers about the stuff we talk about here and they have no clue. These guys seem pretty-well tuned in.

Any Jeep dealership with a driven CJ2A (I think that's what that is ) on the lot is a place I don't mind going :-)

Sticker was $27520 and I got it for $23800 then I was eligible for the competitive lease rebate so I got another $1000 off. So $22800 plus tax and tags and I got them to throw in the first 4 oil changes for free!
I had issues with them and I think Jason was the salesman. He presented me with 2 quotes on 2 Jeeps. One was a 2012 Sahara and the other a 2013 Rubicon. I looked at the supposedly out the door price on each and the difference between then was only $1700 so I shook on a deal for the Rubicon. Then I find out that the Rubicon's price didn't include tax yet the Sahara's price did. So they were not both out the door prices. What kind of comparison is that? I took my business to Century in Mount Airy and I was very pleased with them.

I'm glad you had a much better experience.

Mike Gardner I just noticed you posted last night. I was also here yesterday but was driving my YJ.

Mike Gardner Hold on!!! Lol who did you talk to? I'm there today. My CJ is parked out front.

shooman Anyone know if getting a lift and new tires/wheels voids the Jeep warranty? Just bought a new Rubicon today in Towson and the sales guy said it would void the warranty. Sorry Mike....tried to buy it today at Adams but your price was too high.

Mike Gardner I'm a long time jeep owner. Many of you guys may have dealt with me in the past. I have just come back to adams jeep in Aberdeen. I was with AEV for awhile but came back to Adams to be closer to my family. I'm not selling anything. Just someone that can help if you need a jeep guy at a stealership. I am in sales but not on the forum. So if you have sales questions please contact me at the dealer. I don't want to do "sales crap" here on line. I'm just a Jeep guy. I do happen to sell and build them.

Hammer One Fred Fredrick in Laurel has been great working through some factory quality issues on my new 10A. The experience could have been a nightmare, however they went out of their way to do the "right" things and made the fixes stress free and made the corrections to standard!

The dealership owner, Craig, took a personal interest in my purchase and I felt like I got VIP treatment. They beat every price within 150 miles. They even helped to install a couple Tuffy boxes in my Jeep with fantastic attention to the details and treated my Jeep like their own.

My positive comments come hard earned. I am a demanding customer and they have not disappointed. Ask for Craig the Owner and tell him Hammer says Hi.

danaravenparrothead I completely agree to stay away from Jones Junction, they used to be a good dealership but now their customer service is horrible & they will straight out lie to you. I purchased a new 2013 Jeep from them & traded in a 2007 Jeep. I have had to do most of the work for them & am still waiting for my missing Jeep parts & rebate refund promised to be in hand over a month ago. They also took a month to provide a payment to my credit union for my trade in causing me to incur late fees...I could go on & on.

I definitely will be going to Adams Jeep when I return to MD & wish I never would have dealt with Jones. I also had a great experience with Browns in Glen Burnie buying my first Jeep (slightly used).

FrankTheTank92 I got a 99 ram 2500 from Tate Dodge in Glen Burnie and the experience was awesome. Just got my 13 wrangler from Tate Jeep in Glen Burnie. They were a little reluctant to go down, but I got it for a little over $500 under invoice. Gave me a fair deal on my 2010 Cobalt. Salesman Matt Higgins was awesome and so was Sarah Johnson. The manager was cool too but I don't remember his name. Overall, a good experience...

And can I just say that the lady in the finance office was AMAZING. LOVED HER. She made the time there just that much more pleasant!

chavis3 I've dealt with 3 different Jeep dealers in my lifetime in the Baltimore metro area. Adams Jeep in Aberdeen is hands down the best place to buy, trade, service and mod your Jeep. People from all over the COUNTRY and Canada deal with them and only them. There is a reason for that.

RunGump I just picked up a 13 Sahara from fitzgerald in St Marys. I also dealt with Donna. Got a good deal on both trade-in and purchase. This is the 4th vehicle purchase from them and it all went smoothly. Even to the point on this purchase, that when it was ready, I was in and out in about 10 minutes (I did have my own financing work out).

The sales manager would not budge on my trade a 10 wrangler with under 10000 miles. Offered only $18000. Then he told my sales rep I wasn't serious since my trade had a full tank of gas. Did I mention I was ordering a jeep that I ordered on 16 Jan and it is yet to be delivered! Another local dealer beat the price difference by a little over a thousand dollars. I really thought ourisman was going to be my dealership but i felt insulted which doesn't close the deal.
You should have gone to Carmax up on 40. They offered me $500 for my very lightly abused Civic with 180k miles...Carmax gave me $2000. Ourisman was very good to me but I walked in the door with a price from USAAs car buying service.

wants_a_jeep I bought my 13" 3 months before they where released from fitzgerald in St Marys Next to PAX river. I sent emails with all the options I wanted to about 15 different dealers and every time I got a quote back I sent that out to all the others and told them to beat it by atleast $500. after about 2 months of going back and forth I ended up there. They sold me a factory ordered jeep how I wanted it for about 8k under the MSRP. the sales manager was alittle upset about it but he did not once say anything or once treat me in a negative way. My sales person was Donna and she was very good at keeping me informed. They couldn't match Carmax on the trade in of my old car but they did give me a free rental for the last week of the wait so I could sell my car to carmax while waiting on the new jeep

Black Mt Airy jeep is good and is familiar with the Tread Lightly discount. I bought mine from Tate in Frederick on a friends and family certificate. I believe both are 1% under invoice so it was pretty painless

Yeah that sucks....everyone has a different experience and that certainly isnt a good one...my deal was a bit easier because i wasnt trading anything...i never dealt with the mgr because i didnt need to...being a former F&I guy i knew exactly what i wanted...i will say the F&I guy there irritated me...we were haggling rate and they kept saying that is the best rate we have and cant move so i finally agree because i wanted to get my Jeep...once we get in the office he starts trying to sell me all the extras and all of a sudden the rate drops a point...i knew he was holding rate but when he dropped his pants right away i told him i wasnt buying anything extra and if he didnt give me the lower rate i wasnt buying the Jeep so i got the lower rate.....i told my salesman that if i didnt like him i would have scud missled the guy on the survey but this affects the salesman WAY more than the F&I guy.

MikeAJ87 I go to battle everyday with my sales managers. Us car salesmen usually get a bad reputation because of them.

My bro worked for Jones Junction in Bel Air and they treat their employees like garbage. I for one am boycotting them.
I also worked and bought from Jones Junction and 110% agree with this. Promised bonus incentives after 3 months, turns out to be a whole year. They also force you to buy an iPad (that's never used for business). I've talked to three separate service guys who purposely left oil caps off and said the service managers suggested it. Such an ass backwards place. Moved on to Bob Bell and never looked back. Your best bet for the Baltimore/Harford County area is Adam's Jeep in Churchille/Aberdeen. I've yet to get any work done by them but I've also never heard a bad review, and I believe one if their salesman (also named Mike) is supposedly a really stand-up guy. Best of luck in your purchase.
