Thats what I am thinking, I may try and use the full cage spiderwebshade on mine to hold the extra parts when not in use. We shall see I guess.

DetroitRodeo The window storage was never a big deal to me. I always take them off at home, and with the bikini top, no need to worry if a freak rain shower happens the sunrider and fit sold me on the nx.

homebrwd The Rampage doesnt have the sunroof (front half flips open) option that the bestop does. Also if you look at pictures of the two, the Bestop fits tighter, tighter fit = less flapping. I may have a way to store the windows, once I get my top I am going to try a few things. I'll update.

Yes it does. The advantage over Bestop is windows can be stored in a pocket in the top (same with the Softopper).

We also have the Rampage Top available. It's not on our site right now, but if you call one of our Jeep Experts at 800-988-4605 and they will be able to get you taken care of.

Shoot me a PM with any other questions and I'll be more than happy to help you out.

jowwo I ran across this post while I was checking out the new (to me) forum. Seems like a good place to make my first post.
I installed the trektop NX a couple of days ago on my Jeep. I'm not as happy with it as I thought I would be. It looks great! But I'm dissapointed that the rear window doesn't roll up like a regular soft top. You have to take it off. And the windows have these big plastic things in the corners that make storing them in the jeep kind of a pain. Not as easy as a regular soft top, or what the rampage top claims. But the NX looks to be less saggy than a ramage. That's why I got the bestop. Oh and I think you have to buy the door surrounds separate with the rampage. Anyway, good luck with your choice.

rgroesbeck1 I like the bestop products, other than their bikini top. PITA (IMO). The TrektopNX is the way I would go if I was buying today. I bought a new sailcloth top a few years ago and it seemed like the next day the Trektop came out. Bestop is the company that makes the original equipment, so take that for what it's worth. I personally think they have a good product.

DetroitRodeo I'll have to agree on the trek top NX. Just installed mine last week and the Sunrider feature is incredible. Perfect for open air and zero hassle, the NX looks great too.

homebrwd Frameless tops are good if you like having a safari top with no windows in. Taking them all the way off and putting them back on is a pain.

To add on to Extreme Terrain,
I actually just ordered a trektop NX because I like the safari style top and the trektop also has a the sunrider feature which you wont find with any other frameless top.

Cedar,

If you are going to get a used top, you will have to make sure that all the hardware is with it. Since you are going form a hard to a soft top, you will need the door surrounds, the mounts for it to bolt to the roll bar, all the framework, and finally the tailgate bar. These are all what apply to the factory TJ soft top.

I would recommend the Bestop Trektop NX if you're looking for a frameless top. Their top is the best frameless out there right now. It's a little more pricey than the Rampage top, but the price is way worth it. If you plan on only running it in the summer, store it and clean it will, and it'll last for years.

We have the Trektop available and ready to ship out today. We offer an exclusive discount for members of this forum along with free shipping. Shoot me a PM with any questions!

toms01TJ Mine is not a DD, so the top's off year-round (stored inside for the winter months).

If you anticipate putting the top up and down regularly dependent upon the weather, the factory set-up may be the easier way to do so.

I've no experience with the "frameless" tops, but think they are an awesome idea. I'm just not sure how easy they are to fold-n-stow once removed.

I don't know much about your Jeep, but mine does not have a ton of extra space for stowing "extras," especially the kind of extras that may blow out of the Jeep while zipping along the highway....

Anyone like to relate any "frameless" experiences they may have had???

EricsRubi You definitely need the door surrounds
