Just plug one in:

low profile if you don't want something sticking out.

Pretty cool. I'm wanting to get a couple of USB ports in the back and permanently replace the cig lighter up front with USB too. I hate the damn dongles sticking out.

Yeah, that's a perfect place.

Flipper Check out Burnsmoto- I have a USB port I installed on my Motorcycle- easy to install. May be one of many solutions.

BaldwinJeep I guess I should have been clearer...I have the power point in the center console, but I want something that my 3 kids sitting in the back seat can use without me having to interact with them. LOL. They say "Dad" way too much.

jdyowa That's insane that we both asked the question at nearly the same time.
Great minds and all that....

Bosman It will not bother your U-connect. Your I pod will work better run through the USB in the center council than Blue tooth. Any other devices you plug in will only affect U-connect if you want it too.

jdyowa Mine is a 2010 JKU sport. It's got some upgrades but not that. I would really like to install some usb ports but I have't found any yet. They need to be thin I suppose. looking for ideas

SilverSport Unless Jeep changed something for 2013, you should also have a 12V outlet inside the center console.

BaldwinJeep It would have been nice of Jeep to install a power point in the back of the center console. I may just end of doing that and buying a USB charger for it.

I'm not sure what would happen if I plug in a USB hub to UConnect system. I'm thinking it would cause issues. I keep my iPod plugged in to the center console and just need the additional for charging.

Won't that cause issues with UConnect every time someone plugs in a device?

SilverSport I believe the Rubicon already has one inside the center console.

R4D4R Isnt there a 12v in the back? If you just want it for charging get a 12v to USB 5v adapter.

MRT2 Search the posts for USB. Found one in whichntheynimstalled a port over the rear seat cup holders. Here's mine with a less OEM install on the seatbelt locks.

USB port

Has anyone installed a USB port for charging phones, etc in their Jeep? I'd like to install one in the back of the center console so my kids can charge their phones and tablets.
