JeepHerz I hear ya Jimmy. If the hubster couldn't mechanically fix or upgrade everything I'd still have a stock Jeep. He wants a welder but I figure that's more work that would require his "free" time in the garage. I certainly should be willing to pay for some welding and give him a free day.

I also have a evap. tank skid that I can't use because RR didn't know about the resonator apparently. AFE is down the street and used Adrian's G35 to design their prototype....maybe I can get a good group buy price. As long as it doesn't sound like a rice burner....
I'll take a few burnt hairs for how much I've saved and the freedom to fab and build damn near anything for my jeep. Over the past month I've saved easily a grand if not two. Then again I had a lot of free time.

RKCWLER I would not arc/stick weld any overhead without full protection. I'm talking leather covered arms and upper body. The arc splatter carries much more heat than MIG and will burn right through cotton and melt polyester to your skin.

Nah it takes a bit of practice to get a nice bead, welding uphil with a mig is more interesting. Now welding overhead with 1/4" sticks isn't fun one of those loogies burn for a long time. Trying not to lay underneath your welding area helps too

I don't mind it either. I use a wet painters sock to protect me from burns.
You can get 3 packs from Home Depot or Lowe's for only a couple bucks.

Yeah I try not to as much as I can my helmet covers my face pretty good but I'll have to try that ear plug thing next time.

Mike saw you Friday in town, he was in his truck so you would have no idea who was waving at you, lol.

We didn't get to do any wheeling, but we did get to see a couple friendly faces as Jenn, Bill & Tracy stopped by to say hello. It was nice to see you guys thanks for coming by

It's pretty much a given that you need both. A jeep to get to the boonies and a gun to save your hide while in the boonies.
