bryantom You guys joke about plasti dipping the change in the ash tray, but when I bought my tj, the PO did not clean out the jeep and had a ton of change in the ash tray, he had wrapped every single coin with scotch tape and it did not rattle at all. Between the ash tray and what had bounced up behind the dash I got almost 10 bucks in change, but the tape is a pain to get off

It must be common with the name I can't stand when I have a rattle or squeak. Drives me crazy!!

Yup, the hairs make sure the coins are clean I reckon.

Seriously though, I'm not sure what I'll use that space for but I don't have a need for it yet so an unused ashtray is what it'll be until I need it for something else.

sparky Homemade delete.

Flat piece of steel, with a bend to match the contour, a few holes, some paint - custom switch panel.

TJDave My TJ is an ashtray delete model. It did not come with an ashtray, and the dash just has a flat spot where the ashtray would normally be.
Perfect spot for my ARB switches.

Modifications to the ash tray

Not being a smoker and with an ashtray that is somewhat hard to even keep spare change or trash in, what are some cool mods that can be easily done to make this space more useful?
