thgr8alex Hahah so true, luckily ive got access to one as well! My 3 inch lift kit from zone, on the vehicle lift and running into a few rusted shut bolts, took me a total of 14 hours to install.

Outlawed4x4 I've lowered cars, but haven't lifted anything. I know I'll have access to a car lift. (: Those make everything easier.

thgr8alex They are not hard to install of youve read a good amount of threads about questions people have during installation and their solution at the end, just so you would know what to do if somethimg came up. Theres a thread on here, tj lift reviews, read some of those to get an idea of what you want and how they look and ride. I just installed a 3 inch zone lift on my jeep, one of the lesser expensive kits but has many many good reviews and I love it. Going from 3 inch to 4 inch and 4 inch to say a 6 inch is a bit of a difference, as you will need to replace more and more parts that become too short with higher lifts. My biggest advice as many on here will say is to read a bunch of threads, it really helps a lot.

Outlawed4x4 I want at least a 3" lift.
04-05-2013 12:28 AM
thgr8alex Not if youve got the right tools! Haha and depends on the size of the lift too. Smaller lifts like Budget Boosters are relatively easy amd then replacings coils and control arms and such is still not hard, just a little more time consuming.

Outlawed4x4 Are lift kits hard to install?

1320quick Great links from UnlimitedLJ04. I've read a lot of his posts and they are very helpful. Some of the things you will have to decide will be if you want a short arm or long arm kit. How much lift you want? Having a long term plan for the Jeep is really useful as well.

I wanted the best lift I could buy and based upon my goals for the Jeep and my research, I went with a short arm 3" Savvy/Currie lift for my Rubicon. The quality was outstanding and I could not be happier with it. If your looking for a 3" -4" short arm lift, I would look here: Savvy Offroad

Lift Kit!

So I'm buying a 2006 Unlimited. What is the best lift kit I can purchase? I'm new to the Jeep world so I'm not familiar with much.
