|GoldenSahara00||Light sword like michone uses and a 22 or 9mm pistol. Bowie knife for backup. Recurve bow would be nice with some arrows for hunting too.|
|04-05-2014 08:12 AM|
Close up: machete or a naginatta (bad speller)
Distance: bow fishing equipment (so I can pull back my arrows)
Outfit: riot gear (although being a nudest sounds fun)
Vehicle: my jeep

Technique is also important and I'd be scientific about it. I'd practice by cornering 1 at a time to see where is the easiest kill stroke from each approach angle. Also, some parts of the skull are more difficult, so I'd want to know what's going to work. I'd rather try out a top of the head hit in a controlled environment, just in case and find out if the spike will get lodged in the skull if I go there. Once I find out what stroke works best, it'll become bread and butter routine.
Part of techniques would be strategy. Perhaps 2 zombies might be the limit to engage with the tomahawk. If it's 3 or more I'd have a different strategy like perhaps shoot with the 22 until 2 are left and then switch back to the tomakawk. Maybe there's 4 but they're spaced out far enough that I can get all 4 with the tomahawk.
Zombies are mindless, so good strategy should bring an easy routine win everytime. My group would also each know their job under a variety of circumstance, so that we all act and everybody already knows what everybody else is doing all the time. It would be an obviously professional group when everybody moves into position automatically without anybody needing to talk.

Gear of choice...
Riot gear with a kevlar neck gator. A welder's kevlar sleeve. A custom attachable bayonet to my left arm. A 22 pistol (with silencer) so I can carry extra ammo and 22 will do any zombie brain. I already chose some extra defensive weight, so instead of a sword, I'll go with a tai pan fighting knife. My primary weapon is a tactical tomahawk using the spike end instead of the ax end.
Preferably, I'm in a group and some else is carrying the 22 rifle tor longer range. I'm suited up for the close combat. The spike of the tomahawk is most efficient for getting to the brain and is preferably the quiet choice to not draw more attention or to waste ammo unnessessarily.

|GoldenSahara00||I'm saying they kill them all and store so the muscle doesn't waste away and they don't have to feed them. It would be easy to power their crap. Solar panels, generators, zombies on a treadmill, TV magic, you name it. Heck they probably eat them fast enough they don't even need to freeze them. Just keep the meat cold. I like the jerky idea. Still. Anyways. We've exhausted this topic. Next.|

|HarryJeepGuy||Even if they came up with enough power for freezers, the meat is too tough now, lol. Ever heard of Kobe beef? Keep them in a small area until needed where they can't move around, fatten them up a little, way more tender... Now I feel sick, but that's my guess for the show.|

|JeeperzXKreeperz||This is gonna sound creepy but idc lol best way is to keep them alive taking meat as u need it if u kill them preserving them would be difficult just because available recourses. Besides if they see u killing them it triggers fear and taints the meat.|

|04-03-2014 08:04 PM|
|barefootcowboy||OK,I'm a little confused here, maybe I'm just slow. But how can they butcher them folks? Seems to me I remember Rick and Carl killing the deputy, way back, and he turned zombie on their ass pretty quick. Now I have butchered quite a few critters in my day, cows, deer, turkeys, and I have always been called pretty quick at doing it.So my question is, after they kill these folks how much time do they have to butcher them before they turn into walkers? And I did see the bones in the fenced in area it did not look like they beheaded them. Seems like the skulls were still attached to the spines.|

|Marthor||Since we're covering "best ideas". I'd also recommend an old-school ice house. Dig a deep pit. Fill it with ice during the winter. The ice will last all summer. Build a ten foot earth pile over the top to insulate the cold in. A small door and a ladder to go down in the ice house. Every town and many individual homesteads had an ice-house up until electricity came along and modern refridgeration. If or when electricity goes away, then ice houses will come back again.|

Makes you wonder if the world is going crazy! I'm a big WD fan, but can't help but notice how many commercials for upcoming movies and tv shows are about death. What's next?!
