ljvsnyder Went on a drive down Eagle Mountain Fire Raod, stayed on the main trail as I was alone. The main trail is actually in pretty good shape. There are several trails that lead off the fire road.

Not the best video, but gives you an idea of the road. I need a better mount than my daystar dash mount.

ljvsnyder Printing can be tough. You need to beable to print on large paper to see. I am going to print it on a plotter so that it can be easily read.

ao9488 I did not know that. I'll have to look into it. That sounds like it would be nice to have.

ljvsnyder You can download the maps on usfs website. We want to make them usable on a gps or at least a phone with google earth

ao9488 That would be awesome to have that. I've been meaning to get the maps Myself but I'm never down that direction. I live in Sesser so it's a bit if a haul just to get a map. Id also like to do some shooting around there on a weekend off. Once I get all the brake parts collected for the 8.8 swap I'll be ready to rock n roll.

ljvsnyder Thanks, a co worker and I are working on transferring the shawnee national forest fire road map into a kml file showing all the roads that motorized vehicles can travel. It will take a little while. Thinking of scouting a few on the west side that are close to were I live.

I-Want-A-Jeep No, the main road is Eagle Mountain Rd. There are trails that venture off of that rd that have the fun stuff..
07-28-2014 05:07 PM
ljvsnyder so does the main road contain the mud pits or is that off the main path?

That one was probably 8-10 miles??? Hard to tell just creeping along. We made several stops and it took us about 4.5 hrs

Yeah there are several trails off of fire rd. Goes all the way down to the east/west power line access road. Look at it with the satellite and you can see the trail ruts just south of the words Stone Face
