Bigstonz The Monroe steering stabilizer is supposedly just as good if not better than the Old Man Emu. I'm not sure of the part # at the moment. I have the OME 2.5 lift and had DW issues. Alignment, tire balancing,track bar tightening, steering sabilizer helped, but Currie LCA set at a slightly longer than stock 16" eliminated my problem. Also, alignment parameters are slightly different than stock after a lift. That's my experience, but of course "every jeep is different"

350chevrolet if the axle is moved over you need longer track bars to center it. dont think iv heard of anyone needing them with just a 2" lift tho. also check your tie rod ends and ball joints. they can give those symptoms.

BIMBY I was looking at it before and it seems that the front swaybar has moved to the drivers side about 1/4 of a inch. And the rear end looks to have shifted to the passengers side about the same 1/4 of an inch. Could that be it. I'll take the BB out and send it back.Wifes already blastin me about how this BETTER not turn into another of MY bags of shit.

rrich Sometimes just tightening the Track Arm bolt isn't enough.

Try loosening it slightly, then have someone move the steering wheel back and forth while you put your fingers on the bolt and the bracket. You should not feel any movement.
The hole at the axle end gets elongated - the bolt slides back and forth. Even Gorilla tight it can still slide. When you are driving it the forces against the bolt are much greater than when you are stopped.

Another effective way - spray a thin coat of flat black paint on and around the bolt head. Let dry and drive it - make it shimmy. If the bolt's moving, it'll scrape the paint off, you'll see it. Called a "poor man's magnaflux."

TeeJay only if yours is bent. you shouldn't. Your tires need to be balanced perfectly. what size are they and what it your PSI in each tire? if they're over inflated or inflated to different levels you'll have issues.

daanbc May not help, but did you switch the tires from left to right by mistake. Somtimes a tire gets worn to one direction, then if you switch it, it throws everything off. Just a try.

KBR97 yeah thats weird to have to align anything because the suspension was never actually altered, but maybe it is that.
See if the alignment shop can just give it a "once over" before they do it. This way you dont pay for an alignment and not really need one.

BIMBY Lugs are tight. Maybe I will get the tires re-balanced. Just had it done because I put new rims on like 300/400 miles ago. Tires only have 12,000 on them. Just drove it and once during braking it shimmied. Driving my botso

jgano23 did you get a front end alignment? it is not usually necessary w/ a 2" bb but sometimes it can be. also could your tires been thrown out of balance? i know when i did my bb i threw one of my tires out of balance somehow.

KBR97 are your lugs tight? sounds like a dumb question but double check anyway.
with a budget boost theres not much that changes, so i dont understand what could go wrong beside forgetting to tighten something up. All you did was put in the spacers right?
Did you put them in correctly...upside down maybe??

Front end shimmy

Don't flame me because I have been searching. I recently put in Skyjacker 2 inch, BB. Now when I hit imperfections in the road like pot holes and drainage/manhole covers I get a annoying front end shimmy. I checked for loose stuff. I tightened up the front track bar bolt. Used big f'ing persuasion pipe for torque. I took the doors off yesterday and was able to look out and down at the front left tire and I can see the wheel wiggling from left to right and vise-versa when it happens.It' s making me batty. I ordered a old man emu steering stabilizer and rear track bar relocation bracket that will be here later this week. The BB was the first mod I have done and it was fun putting it in. Now I want to smash the jeep with a hammer.Anyway sorry for the rant. I would greatly appreciate any help ..
