Dollar I never realized they are not around up in the NE area. I guess that's one thing I've taken for granted. There are 17 within 20 miles of my house and over 50 in the Houston metropolitan area. I just checked their map and Texas has 223 stores. Wow!! Surely we can spare a dozen for you guys up north.

Travis64 Wish they would build a store in long island

Is there any plans to extend free shipping to APOs? Or at least take off the UPS shipping costs off of the USPS rate.

I realize UPS is the required carrier for the free shipping, but UPS doesn't deliver to APOs.

Thanks,

Big Fran I have nothing but praise for Discount Tire. I just got my BFG 315x75x16 MT on MB 72's delivered today. This is the third set of tires I've bought from them. Always fast delivery and the best prices I've found. Every time I've called to get tires I have a sheet of paper full of questions and they always seem happy to walk me through every one. My only wish is that there was a Discount Tire local to me.

Just purchased Wheels & Tires also

I Talked with DTD and because I am in Phoenix they said just go to the local Store and get what I needed for the same . I did and got the 4th of July sale that was only 2 days .
They were great with putting up with me as I went back and forth on wheels for 3 weeks anyway. I bought '5 ' Level 8 Strike 5 machined silver 17 x 9 w/ 4.5 back set . I also went with the 265/70 R 17 Cooper ATP's 10 ply they are great so far . Discount did a Great Job I had just bought tires 2 weeks before for the XJ also .
Have been buying Tires from them for 25 years.
Thanks

Discount Tire Thank you for sharing your experience with us here, Dmc1. We appreciate your continued support.

Dmc1 Stopped by there today on the way home from work and ordered my tires for my Rubi wheels I found. I asked a ton of questions as usual and the guy that helped me was more than patient. I even asked for a certain person to mount and balance and was told no problem. Discount Tire has always given me excellent service. It is the only place I deal with. Can't wait to get the wheels mounted Friday morning and get the 2013 Jeep back on the road! Pictures coming soon.

Great Job Discount Tire!

I understand about the safety/liability concern because of possible injuries when mounting tires on the old do it yourself cut and weld beadlock that wasn't built as a beadlock from the beginning, but these beadlocks are sold by the local Discount Tire store. The beadlock is manufactured as a beadlock, not a beadlock that has been converted from a standard rim with cutting and welding involved.

I wish the store would change its policy, so I could start using them again. They are a lot more convenient than the local tire guys. I even offered to buy the tires from them and do the mounting myself if they could balance them and rotate them occassionally, but no dice. Oh well, beadlocks are more important to me than the added inconvenience.
Yes, as you have found, at this time we don't service beadlocks. I am not sure if this will change in the future of not. If I see any changes we will certainly let everyone here know.

They might change their policy if you send them a letter making your case as to the details of the DOT approved beadlocks. Or you could try Stauns, which are a pita to mount/air down/etc but lock inside and outside beads (as you know).

At one point the did work on vehicles with wheel spacers, then the didn't, now they do again.

Proxy404 Philly needs a DTD. I'm gearing up for 35s and was going to order from the site. I'd rather these guys to do the install after all I've read on this thread!

Just got new wheels and tires two days ago and I will echo the sentiments here. Outstanding people to work with, excellent customer service and communications on a backordered set of wheels. They have a long term customer going forward.

Discount Tire Direct is the mail order service of Discount Tire Co. We are here to compete with the on-line market and to service those who do not have Discount Tire locations in their area

The two are considered different business units within the company.

1911A1 Bought 5 Cooper Discoverer AT3's from Discount Tire Direct last month. Really great and quick service, knowledgable staff, and very good prices after price matching and Wrangler Forum discount. They set up mounting and balancing for an equally good price at a local NTB store. Will use them again for future tires.

Got to love posting on the phone sometimes.

If they would have had some 37" pitbulls when I checked last time I would have ordered from them again.
