Mini Me Today I attempted to install my skyjacker 2" bb. 3 of the 4 upper shock bolts from the rear snapped off. Now I'm gonna have to drive it with no rear shocks to the local dealership on Tuesday so they could drill out the bolts. Of course nothing goes as planned What normally would have taken 2-3 hours will take days. Also, the front lower shock bolts are being a PITA. I guess this is what happens when you have an older jeep. Rust is the biggest enemy.

surprisingly not bad, the shitty built bumpers and light bar/ limb snagger are about the only things. $2000 for a complete running 97 TJ is a good deal.

New Speakers

Today I put some new speakers in the dash and the sound bar. Nothing fancy some Schosche EFX 5.25 components in the dash with an adapter that allows them to fit in place of 4x6s. Also put some pyle blue label 5.25 coaxials. Also upgraded the console sub to a pyle dual voice coil. Sounds great even for cheap speakers.

Mamefreak Had my CEL come on for the TPS... Looks like I'm gonna be seeing the "parts master" at the dealership Monday :-/ . But in positive news I was gifted an aFe stage 2 cold air intake system! I'll be getting that Tuesday :-)

Good to know about the pads. I usually follow written instructions very carefully. But sometimes not. Brake pads are brake pads, so I would have probably just slapped them into the calipers. I will read the instructions for sure.

I did the ZJ front end swap. My minor vibes are gone. Because I was having them in the first place and they were from the bad TREs I also replaced my steering damper.

We will do the wheel work today and tomorrow. So U joints, ball joints and unit bearings in one step. Probably the rotors and pads, too.

Then some test driving for a day or so.

After that we will do the axle work (diffs, new Lube Lockers, and rear pinion seal).

After that has been sorted we will then ratchet-strap the tranny and pull the skid. I am hoping that there are no problems with that part. If so, we will fix them as best we can. If not, then we will move on.

The Novak cable shifter will go on first, then the SYE and driveshaft. That will be the next stopping point.

More test driving (or back the the job and life).

Then if everything seems to be okay we will cut out the dead rear shocks and clean up the mounting holes/captured nuts.

Then we can install the lift kit.

Hope I don't end up with any left over parts. I hate when that happens, heh, heh, heh...
