JeepHerz So much for textured being easier to touch up!

huskrjk Respond from rampage tech support:

Thank you for your recent purchase of Rampage Products.
We do have a method to touch up the powder coating.
You will need the following paints.
1. Rustoleum Hammered.
2. Krylon Fusions Semi Gloss Black.
You will need to spray the Hammered paint and once dry coat with the Krylon Semi-Gloss.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for your continued support of Rampage Products!

JeepHerz If you have semi-gloss- this is what you'll want - perfect match.

On a side note. Got some flat black rustoleum and it seems a little too flat. Would a satin black be a better match?

Also winch plate came with not bolts) but the under side is appropriately tapered.
Can't remember what the exact bolts were and don't feel like rereading this entire thread to find it. Have a fastensal in town so will go there.
Txs all!
Satin would probably be better.

I didn't have any bolts with mine either so I used some bolts I had in the garage and painted them black. I didn't mount a winch so I used the bolts to cover up the holes.

Thanks for the idea! I didn't throw mine away and so I think I'll cut/shape it and spray paint it glossy black to match the glossy finish on the glossy Rampage 86510. Michigan roads suck in the winter with the slush and salt so doing anything to fight back against rust I'll attempt...

I had to drill it out with a regular drill bit and the spacer came out with it. It's easy to replace so I didn't mind destroying it with the drill to get it out. I found a new set of spacer screws at O'Reily's...

huskrjk Sorry double post!
Will attempt to find a flexible ratchet.
Txs guys! Got it snug. But not tight!
Did you guys torque yours? If so how much?

You can if you get the long plastic spacer plate on top that sits between the grill and the bumper. I installed mine on Saturday and really pleased with it. Had to remove the plate and I was able to get a ratchet in there from the top to get the driver side interior nut off with a long cam 18mm ratchet. Don't mistake the two screws that hold the plastic spacer in for metal, I took a drill with a Philips bit and totally stripped the head of the screw because it was plastic LOL.

I have the same bumper. You need a flexible ratchet with extension. It will take a while but can be done. Use your left hand to hold extension and guide it.

huskrjk just ordered mine from amazon yesterday! should be here tuesday with free prime shipping.
This will be my first "majorish" mod to my 14 Granite Sahara Unlimited
When i first got the jeep I found a pic of this bumper on a jeep and knew it was the style I wanted!
2mos of looking I was about to order a rockhard 4x4 bumper until I ran across another picture of this and knew it was the right one for me! Not only is the styling exactly what I wanted but it weighs a bit less and costs quite a bit less than others of the same category.

this is the pic that did it for me!

I had to pull my factory hitch off to install this bumper. I am looking into somehow reworking the hitch or a different brand hitch.

Thanks for the quick replies! Good to know I'm not the only one. I have a couple hardware stores around so I'll pick them up tonight. Thanks!

I see on your Rampage install that you did not flip the grill piece from your original bumper to fill the gap...I am assuming you can you that piece either way. Looks better with the ridges rather than just placed upside down.

Love the bumper!!!

I thought of that....but I really need something stronger than the stock ones. Want the same rock protection as my sliders-which are Pure Jeep. PJ makes a full width fender that would work- but its just fender. Metal Cloak and Poison Spyder both use a secondary support bracket so you're not just relying on Jeep sheet metal. But they're too narrow. Considering making the bumper a semi-stubby- just past the bull bar. Full width is getting in the way now anyway....it would save me a couple inches and then I can use Metal Cloak. Not sure how it would look...but I emailed Roughneck about the chop job.
Unfortunately I was hoping to get this done for my trip to Rubicon but it doesn't look like that will happen. So now I have time.
