|raysnutt18||'93 Sahara with SOA and 33x12.5 bfg. have found that the hardtop and doors are much happier in the garage and not on the jeep....I am much happier with that too|

|racer-xerols||93 YJ here, white half doors, gray top/interior, 4.0/5m, carpet replaced with line-x, no back seat, half top with tonno (warms up faster in winter), Alpine CD with Pioneer 4x6s, JBLs in sound bar, Infinity sub under tonno mounted in tube made from 12" pvc pipe and 2 BIG end caps. 2" shackle lift, 31x10.5, adjusted steering stops, mirrors on windshield for door-free summers, OEM TJ foglights wired to ignition on bumper between headlights; Hella square 110s (I think) on ends of bumpers wired to high beams. Always muddy, perpetual lifter tic, muffler inlet is leaking....but it's hella fun in the snow and it starts every time!|

^ Bad Arse Jeep!!
Mine is a '94, tan or something close in color. Still the same way I bought it almost 2 yrs ago, 3" body lift with 31x10.50's, except I painted the dash and door panels black instead of spice. I have also ripped out the carpet and am waiting to line the tub. Next in line are new wheels (probably just black steelies) and new meat (32x11.50's). Then I will work on saving up for a susp lift so I can ditch this ugly arse body lift.

Ok I will play. I run an 89 YJ that is Nearly Stock
To many mods to list, it would be easier to list what is still stock. Go to my web page fir more info if you want it.

Yeah I figured that out. ouch..
I never inspected the air box before I took her out. turns out the original owner took out the stock constrictor going behind the headlight so when I went into a little water it all went straight in.. and believe me I didnt want to replace a motor either...

Well, I bought an 88 4.2 5spd about 18 months ago. The first thing I did was take the top and doors off and put on a bikini top, what's the point of having a jeep if you're gonna be all closed in. Then had tranfer case issues so I put in an SYE and new rear cvc driveshaft. Next I re-did the brakes and repaired the exhuast. No Cat and Flomaster 40. Then the engine crapped on me. Put in a reman and removed A/C (why do you need ac if you have no doors or top) and all hoses and junk under the hood that I could.
Having to replace the engine has set me back some but my plans are to line the tub as soon as it warms up this spring. Get extended shackles, 31x10.50 tires, black rims, custom made bumpers and new seat covers.
So if you see me and puppy criusin' be sure to wave!!!!

|whitebuffalo||SYE is a slip yoke eliminator. it replaces the very tail enbd of your transfer case so your driveshaft can be longer. i'b bet dollars to dimes thats your problem.|
|12-13-2006 10:21 AM|
I know what the CV convertion is, bit what pray tell is ( SYE )?
Iam sure thats why the rear drive shaft was lost in the first place.
|12-13-2006 09:38 AM|
|whitebuffalo||if you're running 4" of lift...u ought to have a SYE. if you dont, there would be your vibration problem.|
|12-13-2006 07:51 AM|
I own a 91 YJ, I call the red ric-shaw, It has a lot of problems, including a messed up T-case or Traney. The vibrations are bad a 45 mph. 31" Tires 4" lift 4 banger, no top. Had to replace the drive shaft in the rear after it was lost while towing. Its too cold in Idaho for jeeping with no top.

hi all . . is been a while since i've posted but here goes. . i have a 89 YJ, with a truly custom light bar on the top. its sits on 31's and 2" lift shackles. i have the stock 4.2l inline 6. and to top it off, its got 210k miles on the clock! i love this thing, it jsut wont die!
anyways . .soon to have a SOA and Aussie Locker in the rear.
|12-08-2006 06:30 PM|
I have, gee who'd guess it by my name here, a 93 ys 2.5L.
K&N cold air intake, throttle body spacer, catback exhaust.
Took off the 31's and went back closer to stock until I can save up the bucks to swap gears out to make it a little more MPG friendly.
The little buggy only has 80K miles, looks great, runs strong.
I to prefer not to take it out on rough trails, but it does work hard for me, and goes off road from time to time. When I bought it I decided I was going to try my best to keep it looking good and low miles for just as long as I possibly can, and then when the YJ's start disappearing to the great mudhole in the sky, then I am going to ape with it.
Thats the plan at anyrate, but its starting to eat away at my sole that its wanting to be a lot more, but isnt.

How do I save that as a tag line?

|92_YJay||Alright, I'm new to the whole forum thing but have owned my jeep since I graduated High School in 94'. It's a 92 wrangler 2.5, 4" RC susp. lift, full Magnaflow 2.5" exhaust, 265/70r/17 Mickey Thompson's(lookin' to upgrade soon)And i'm lookin' to lock the front real soon!|

|Griz||Well my 87 YJ is on the road. I just spent $1600 to get all the emmission stuff put back on and get it running so it will pass. Guess what it failed twice. So as of the 15th it will be parked again until after the first of the year when the emmissions tests go away. I still need to get rid or the after market elec. fuel pump and hook up the OEM pump. I think the elec. is putting out too much fuel and causing it to run too rich and flood eaisly.|

Sounds very similar to my Green 94, until you get to the second sentence and beyond... :o

|bluvikng||This is too cool. I have a little red 89 YJ. It has nearly stock tires, and nearly stock look. It has 2.7 liters on each side, fuel injected, a small monster STAK 3 speed transfer case, a Dana 60 front axle, a GM 14 bolt rear end. Both of which have ARB air lockers, and 456 gears. A 3 link front suspension, with a four link rear suspension. All of this is sitting on a stretched out wheel base of 106", on coilovers. Just your ordinary, run of the mill, YJ. It is by far my favorite toy, even when compared to our Rubicon. This is a toy that has the poison spyder full roll cage, comp. rear corners, and flat tube fendors. And I wrapped it up with custom racing, bucket seats. Now I work long hours too replace the couple of dollars spent on this wild project......lol.|

|theorrminator||Ok...I'll play. 15 years ago I went through a pair of Jeep CJ-7's with 304s, one got wrecked and the other I sold soon after getting married. Flash foward those 15 years and we are an all Jeep family after converting the missus. She drives a stock (at the moment) 03 Liberty. Me? 89 YJ with 31x10.5's, 4.2 liter rebuilt 6 with Weber carb, rebuilt Auto tranny, Rough Country add a leaf suspension kit and 5 light bar across the top.|
