98TJSahara I bought them last year but have yet to install them. For the price and the limited options for a 98 it seemed like a good purchase, install should be a sinch if i ever get the time, maybe this weekend :-)

TheTJRod I like the tube look too, but I do see a winch in my Jeep's future and liked the more aggressive look of this front bumper from RR. It goes well with this rear bumper, though the only thing is that the 2" receiver isn't rated for towing and is only for accessories(I foresee a jet ski in my future too .

05GT-O.C.D. FWIW - I have a pair of fog lamp mounting plates for tube bumpers avail in the classifieds. If going tube, my only recommendation is going black (not chrome), because it's a lot easier to paint over scratches, etc.

Jp90Talon I have their front, rear and sides and like them. They have already paid for themselves in preventing body damage to my heep.

daanbc I had a friend years ago that use to put play sand in the tubes during winter. It kept the front of the truck down for traction.

jp'rs_peep'rs From what I've seen of some of the guys here in WI. which are running those tubes is that they rust from the insid out pretty damn quickly. I'd suggest to get them in a material which is going to handle the elements and not turn to iron oxide. Lol!

jgano23 i have the rugged ridge front bumper on my tj. it is a great bumper and i have no problems w/ the tow hooks, but there is really no way of fitting a winch on there.

Giancarlo eh scratch the tube bumpers ..

daanbc I still have my tow hooks.

Jerry Bransford One more big drawback I nearly forgot to mention, it'd be very hard to attach even a tow hook to the front of a Jeep running those particular bumpers. For an offroader trying to pass the safety inspection before an organized trail ride without front tow-hooks, that'd be an automatic no pass deal breaker.

Jma20a i'v seen some that have the top tube cut out in the middle so that a winch can fit.

daanbc I like the tube look. I realize that there really is no good use for them off road compared to the other brands. But i just like the way they look. Call me bonkers.

Jerry Bransford That's the kind that will not likely allow a winch to be mounted. If you never plan on installing a winch, they'd be fine.

One more comment, many would consider tube bumpers to have gone out of style on Wranglers years ago. But apparently, many stilll like them.

Rugged Ridge Dual Tube Bumpers

Hi gang,

anybody have any experience with rugged ridge dual tubes? Quadratec has them on their site - pretty affordable.

Just wondering if anybody knows anything about them as far as quality, etc. Or any bumper brand for that matter!
