Take the battery cables off & hold them together for about 10secs. Then leave battery disconnected for about 10minutes. This is a capacitive discharge procedure & will reset all the modules. Sometimes the modules wig out & forget what their doing. You got to look at it like this, each module is basically an individual computer & they all communicate over a network called the Bus. And sometimes a module will freeze up for a second, kinda like how your laptop doesn't respond to mouse clicks for a few seconds. When this happens, the modules that are waitign on info from the other module sets codes & warning lights cause it's not getting the info it is supposed to have. Then the module wakes up but the warning lights are still on until the next drive cycle. Then depending on what code it is the CEL will go off after 3 consecutive good trips. The code goes to stored, but the CEL goes off.
Then the customer brings the car to us & they get mad cause we can't recreate the problem or find out what caused it. Trust me I don't believe your crazy & brought your car to me for no reason. I believe you when you say it did something. But just like how your stuff started workign & the CEL went away is what happens to us. So please understand this & don't think were blowing you off or think your crazy. We want to find what caused it, cause I don't get paid for a " No Problem Found at this time issue ". So I sometimes spend an hour or more trying to find or recreate a problem that I can't find & I get paid $0.00 for it.

|Krummy||I had the exact issue happen while driving. The error lights would flash, radio would cut out and speedo wold go to 0 then all to back to normal. The error lights never stayed on they wold just go back to normal. After posting it I got some advice to check the battery and sure enough it was a loose connection. I guess when I hit a bump it would bounce loose and lose power for a second. Was fix so check our terminals to make sure they are tight.|

When one of my batteries died (internally shorted), I experienced many of the lights and dead speedometer you mentioned. The reason was that my alternator was shooting up to about 15.1V, which is too much for the Jeep's computer and electronics. I could barely drive it. Luckily, I had a monitoring system, and saw that my voltage was spiking up as soon as I accelerated more. Luckily, I also had dual batteries, so I bypassed the main battery and the problems went away. I could also visually see the older battery had bulged and tested it with my voltmeter and sure enough, it was shorted.
Moral of the story, you could have a failing alternator or failing battery that are intermittent. The battery is easy to check, the alternator has to be pulled to properly check it.

Sorry Coreyz. I didn't mean to offend anyone. I know that amateurs like me right away posts any issue without even doing basic research. And when i clicked on the google link that he posted on my iPhone it took me to google home page. So i thought may be he is suggesting me to google about it.
I got many good suggestions and lot of valuable info from expert members here. I like this forum a lot and members here. You guys are so helpful in lot of things. May be i should have replied in a proper way to the above post.

"U1110 means the PCM didn't receive a vehicle speed signal from the Anti-lock brake Module over the CAN C bus. Are you sure this wasn't accompanied by U0121? If not, you need a new PCM. If you have the U0121, then you may just need an ABS module.
U1120 is a lost wheel distance message. It has the same possible causes as the above. Both can also be caused by a short in the CAN C bus as well. You need a mechanic for this one, unless you have the proper scan tool to run a Powertrain Verification Test.
Chrysler mechanics, feel free to chime in on this one."
Try not to get too overly defensive right away.

Thanks everyone. Funny thing is the check in engine also went off and everything is normal. I don't know if i have to be happy or should i worry? But right now everything is normal.
Silversport, i googled a lot but coz if so many lights flashing at one time i came here for expert advice before going to stealerships.

Haha. The error code is u1110 - lost vehicle speed message. Not sure what it is.
What should i do. Go to the jeep dealer or go to some local mechanics??

I had this recently happen to me. Thought it may be a wiring issue as my speedo would cut out when the lights came on. I researched the heck out of this and the three primary things I have found is:
1) Wheel speed sensors (codes may help you determine which wheel)
2) Bad ABS Module (this was my issue)
3) Wiring harness issue somewhere behind the dash (sorry don't have any more specifics)
Thankfully this was covered by the dealership I bought the Jeep from (07 JKU), other wise thats an $800 repair bill.

|Addy||Thanks Chipmonk66gt. I will get the error codes and will let you know, thanks for the quick reply.|
|04-16-2013 10:32 AM|
|chipmonk66gt||No we can't just on the light being on. Take it and get the error codes from a place like Advance Auto or Autozone. Once you know the codes we can start diagnosing it. There may be a way to pull the codes at the information center but I'm not sure, someone can interject. Also, be extra safe when driving it.|
