I'd stretch my TJ like the guy on here did. Build the driveline tastefully and stout but not too wild. I don't like purpose built race/comp vehicles unless it's a trophy truck. No more than 6" of lift and go overlanding. Start in Canada and work my way to South America.

I would do the Shop Mod.
Three or four bays with lifts and hand tools. A machine/fab shop. Specialty tools like presses, pullers, and precision measuring equipment. A paint booth. Heated/cooled hangout for telling lies. And a "soft wall" for when I really can't resist chucking that wrench.

Onboard continuous-duty air system.
Skid plates everywhere.
And then I'd buy a JKU Safari for my daily driver. With all of the electronic bells and whistles.

|RMSpiel||I would make my current tj a trail rig only, like 37's on it, with a turbo cummins in it, winch, lights, the whole 9 yards, and then by a stick rubicon LJ, lift it on 33's, bumpers, winch, lights, both hard and soft top, and make it my every day driver, then buy a ford svt raptor to haul around my tj on a trailer, then for fun either a corvette zr1 or cts-v coupe, both either black on black or blue with black rims|

I'd strip her down to the very last bolt, clean, restore and rebuild, with a reasonable lift, new running gear all round, 33s, custom paint work, and a custom interior. Might even treat her to a 4BT swap.... nothing over the top, don't want to spend it all at once....
And I'd also go buy another TJ.....

|Rubicondon53||I'd sell the jeep, fly to England, purchase a completely rebuilt and restored Defender 110, TDI, outfit it for long range travel, drive thru the Chunnel, head southeast across Russia, then into China, from Hong Kong take a slow boat to Australia, spend a year exploring Australia, take a slow boat to South America, and head home, to my new house located in the Monte LaSal mountain range in Southeast Utah. All told a 4 or 5 year trip.. Any one else wanna go ?|
